i moved my black box today when i installed my ssa cat back. you guys that have done this how did you put it in the spare tire well and get the tire to go down all the way?

anyone i know a few of you have done this

hey, the spare tire does NOT go in all the way.
That's what you have to live with.
it can cover and secure the box in place, but since it is flipped , it will not go in all the way.

The cheap price of that exhaust isn't enough for me to butcher the hell out of the car that much.

In some ways your better off just cutting that black box with a sazall or somthing.

The exhaust has not messed up my black box yet or any of the rubber hoses. As you can see the box is already covered in a heavy duty heatshield tape, so welding may not be necessary. I will have to truly wait to see if will hold up in the summer since it will be much hotter outside. But honesly, I don't think you will have any problems.

The original exhuast(veilside) was designed on KDM Tiburon(Tuscani) which has alot smaller black box than US spec Tiburon's black box..... and those ebay exhaust is copy of Veilside's..... ;)

uhh a quick question : What exactly does the box do ? Im thinking that it absorbs the harmful gasses from the cat ? just guessing tho probly not right

Oh yeah i hate those things, me and bud opened one up for fun in the shop, we ended up being african american for the rest of the day. damn boxes.

A charcoal canister absorbes excess Gasoline fumes, in a nutshell.... so yeah, you were on the right track. It's not there to protect us from the fumes, but is there for the environment.

what does the veilside do?
