Can anyone tell me the difference in this bpv http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33621&item=2457392827 and a aem bpv? I know they look different (before someone responds) but is this one worth it. The difference in price is about $30.00
Im asking this for several reasons...1- the difference in $$$$ compared to name brand bpv. 2- I live in michigan (yah Im sorry too) and it is a rainy state in the summer and of course snowy now. Im going to hold out puting it on till this spring but not sure if that would be wise also. I would also like to know who has had there car hydrolock because they did not have a bpv. I have searched this problem and didnt find out too much. Thanks

hrmmm....if u read it doesn't come with instruction soooooo..i don't trust it. i mean...$6 for a bpv?!!!!! how does it work? the AEM bpv has light/thin rubber diaphrams that opens when the filter gets clogged with water(that's y it has that shape). from the way that $6 bpv looks, it looks like a filter that sucks in engine air simultaneously with the cai. that's just my opinion. s/h cost more than the bpv...lol.

my suggestion. like anything else here, u get what u pay for. i'd rather go with the AEM

btw, i don't have my bpv installed on my cai and last year it rained like every other day here. the k/n filter sits high in the well so unless u r goin to drive through like 6-8 inches of water, then u don't have to(in my opinion). but who knows, might as well take that extra precaustions, right?

That BPV on Ebay is just an air filter. it will suck in air through there all the time, therefore sucking hot air from the engine bay in and defeating the purpose of the CAI alltogether. The AEM is made so that it will only open if the the filter end of the CAI is clogged somehow. So unless it's clogged your sucking through the CAI filter and getting the colder air that you want.

AdRock has it right. When it looks to good to be true it probably is.

I had my bpv on, but replaced my custom intake with an AEM one and didnt put it on. I am not worried in the least about sucking in water. the stock air filter system has a plastic hose that sits about the same height as the new air filter.
