Dude, you're just grounding the engine block. You don't NEED to wire it up in any particular way. Have a cable going from the negative terminal of the battery to somewhere on the chassis, then have several points on the engine block, and transmission wired to the chassis. A few wired to the same point that the battery ground cable you did first will provide a better direct path to the negative.

There's no 'right' way to do it.
