Blue printing typically referes to hand assembly of a new shortblock, with matched components, then verifying all spec and tolerances of the short block. Typical things are crank end play, bearing an journal tolerances, cam specs, deck height and surface, cyl bore, etc...

At the same time you will also want to have your block internals balanced...all parts should be static and dynamically balanced as well

Barnes and Noble is not a library! Those books are for sale. :)

Yeah, but it is more of a pain in the ass to find them in a library.

(edit - I used to work in a Barnes and Noble and people did that all the time, if we noticed them coming in with a coffe from somewhere else, reading a book for hours and then putting it back and leaving, and then doing the same with the same book later on, we would actually "inform" them that this is not a library and that we cannot have non-purchasing customers breaking the bindings of our new books without the intent of buying.)

so why do I always see people sitting in like a circle of chairs at these places yet no worker informs them of this?

yeah i like reading about common things so you know your getting the best product out there instead of a crappy one like what my parents get...then they complain that there stuff breaks when mines still kickin, all cause of reading manuals and product responses ;)

One of the tricks I used when building performance engines was to number each of the pistons, then when the block is bored have it bored to the specifications of the corresponding piston not just a generic spec. Another tip is to epoxy magnets in the head where the oil drains back to the crankcase. The valvetrain is always the first to lose oil pressure and the debris from this often causes failures within the block.
