Skinny Puppy 02-06-2004, 03:06 PM does a CAI even help with a turbo?
monkman33 02-06-2004, 03:19 PM Maybe a CAI would help but then you would be putting the air through more drastic temperature changes. The air would come in fromt the outside, get heated up as it is forced through the turbine and then get cooled down again as it goes through the intercooler. Plus, with how much MORE air you are actually bringing into your engine, that would raise the risk of sucking in moisture dramatically. It is usually more than effective enough with the intercooler.
The Power of Dreams 02-06-2004, 03:46 PM CAI's are usually not used on turbos unless you can guarantee moisture or other particles not entering the filter. Safest place is engine bay and well-protected at that. If you even suck in dirt or other debris say good-bye to the turbo!
Chaotix 02-06-2004, 04:04 PM Very nice! I think I've seen the before, though. Regardless, another Turbo on the market can't hurt!!
StreetShark 02-06-2004, 04:07 PM I really dont see..short of the headers..how this could be a hard system to make. Anybody know the problems they came across or TEAMSR?
Mines Better 02-06-2004, 04:07 PM yea thats what solo posted months ago...
nisco 02-06-2004, 04:21 PM what are teh number for that.. does anyone know?....
even if its not being sold.. im curious what thats pushing

Yeah, can we say F.O.D.
It looks as though theres two turbos in two diffrent sizes.
JackMcNASTY 02-06-2004, 05:31 PM That isn't a CAI, I would assume it is coming from a FMI.

God..its too easy to make fun of you on this one.....but I wont!
JackMcNASTY 02-06-2004, 05:35 PM Go ahead and make fun of him so I can make fun of you.
You obviously have no idea what he is talking about. lol
Solo2Tib 02-06-2004, 08:42 PM does a CAI even help with a turbo?
I hope you're not implying that there is a CAI in any of those pics.
And yes these are the same ones I posted a couple months ago, BUT that was the old forum so who cares.
seven 02-06-2004, 10:09 PM what psi can the 2.7 handle with stock internals?
Solo2Tib 02-06-2004, 10:26 PM no one knows yet.
is this kit for sale or what? display?
Solo2Tib 02-07-2004, 12:13 AM its from korea, just two one off kits for the most part.

no he was asking if having a cai on a turbo would make a difference...which we know it wont...
and i was just saying u posted the pics already so ppl dont think its a turbo that JUST came out...not to say its a repost or w/e.
Solo2Tib 02-07-2004, 12:25 AM Yeah I know ;)
Lotus580 02-07-2004, 07:48 PM It's so beautiful :'(
krnxwestsider 02-07-2004, 09:38 PM juss wondering.. wheres the battery?? don't race spec cars hav battery too?? relocated??
Solo2Tib 02-07-2004, 09:54 PM All cars need a battery. Its relocated to the rear obviously.
And they are not race spec cars.
actually, having a CAI does effect a turbo for the better. The air starts out cooler, therefor it enters the engine cooler and more dense. my friend's turbo GSX see's a several whp change between CAI and non-CAI

the CAI should only make a bigger difference if you are not running a FMIC
YellowTuscRcr 02-18-2004, 10:45 AM :3_winkthu for turbos, ....:m_BangHeafor not having enuf cash for turbos lol
silver03gt 02-18-2004, 10:49 AM OK now here's a complete newb turbo question what's a FMI or FMIC thanks
t.o.tib 02-18-2004, 10:57 AM Why the hell would they have the intake pipe and MAF beside the hot side of the turbo?? :2_rolleye
InkTheFlesh 02-18-2004, 11:04 AM FMIC=Front Mount Intercooler
Malik112099 02-18-2004, 11:05 AM Why the hell would they have the intake pipe and MAF beside the hot side of the turbo??
um...try not enough room
silver03gt 02-18-2004, 01:37 PM FMIC=Front Mount Intercooler
thanks. now it makes sense
Solo2Tib 02-18-2004, 10:02 PM the CAI should only make a bigger difference if you are not running a FMIC
There is a reason why you can get CAI's for WRX's.
lkyle 02-18-2004, 11:20 PM 2003-2004 Tiburon V6 Turbo Kit
Introducing the first production turbo kit for the Hyundai Tiburon V6. The kit you see on display here is our stage 1 kit. Stages 2 and 3 are in development now. This kit was installed on a Tiburon which had a baseline dyno of 149 HP and 170 lbs. of torque. After installing only the turbo kit, as you can see from the dyno to the right, at 4psi, the car now has 220 HP and 227lbs. of torque! At the Carlsbad Raceway, we tested stock V6 Tiburons to a best time of 16.1 in the quarter mile. The turbo kit lowered the Tiburon time down to a best of 14.3, on 18 inch wheels! With drag slicks, we are confident the time could be dropped down to 14 flat or lower. The Santa Fe and 02-04 Sonata also have the same engine, so the kit is the same for those cars. We have not yet installed the kit on one of those cars though to see if there are any different installation issues.
All components of this Stage 1 kit are of the highest quality, allowing the hardware of the kit to produce well over 400 HP on the same turbo. Here is what the Stage 1 Kit Includes:
Manifolds; Up Pipe; Turbo Mounting Bracket; Down Pipe; Cold Air Intake with High Performance Filter; O2 Sensor Stimulators; Front Mount Intercooler with Intercooler piping; Blow off Valve; Silicone Turbo Hose Connectors; MAS Relocation Kit; B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator; Innovative Turbo Systems T3/T4 Hybrid Turbo; Innovative Turbo Systems Minigate Wastegate; Stainless Steel Braided Oil Supply and Return Lines; J&S Safeguard Ignition Systems; Optional: Battery Relocation Kit.
The kit is in production now, and we hope should start shipping next month. We are holding a special group buy for those who want to put a downpayment on the kit, and get on the list to recieve the first ones produced. Regular price of the kit is $3995 plus shipping. If you put $1000 dollars down on the kit, your price will come out to only $3795 plus shipping, once its ready to ship. If you put $2000 down on the kit, the price will be $3595. If you pay the full amount up front, the price will only be $3395 plus shipping. For amounts over 1000 dollars, due to credit card regulations, we cannot process it with a credit card. You will need to contact us for other payment arrangements.

Solo2Tib 02-19-2004, 08:13 PM No he just pasted some info off somewhere or another about teamsr's evofusion turbo kit, what he posted has like nothing to do with the pross kit.
Blue04GT 02-19-2004, 08:34 PM Yeah, can we say F.O.D.
It looks as though theres two turbos in two diffrent sizes.
Yes they are completely different...jus look at the intake side connection to the piping
