Cold anyone tell me anything about this filter? I saw it in a local auto parts store for around 35 bucks, looks pretty cool but does it work? It is made by APC.

Thanks!

It is made by APC.

Before anyone else jumps on this...

What I quoted should answer your questions...If it's made by APC, it is worthless crap.

Spend the same amount (or less) and get a good K&N filter

Probably the case but saw an add for it in Hot Compact & imports. Here is the link for the intake that was in the add.

Click on product and then performance and then cold air intakes

Basically... if you go with APC... you're aiming a bit low... and it wont get you much respect around here... trust me... I have one on my car lol... :)... They're not bad... performance filters are all about the same... but you won't get the almighty 15hp that some filters boast... you'll get maybe 3-5... but you WILL notice that your car will sound way more aggressive at high RPMs, revs HELLA fast, and sucks air like a vacuum... truly an improvement for a cheap price... but if you are planning on shelling out the bucks, go top-of-the-line... or get a CAI if you can afford it... you'll thank yourself in the long run. Plus, if you have a V6, you'll find that a performance filter will bounce around in your engine bay if you dont suspend it properly or fabricate a mounting bracket. I've done irreparable damage to my brake line because of this mistake... thankfully it's part of the recall work and I got it fixed... but heed my warning! ;)

Thanks for the info, just saw this filter and thought it looked pretty sweet. Wanted to get a few opinions on it before I purchased it. I just installed a CAI but don't like the filter that is on it, going to upgrade to a K&N probably soon (if I can find one), having a hard time with the auto part stores in my area. I've heard everything from some idiot saying that an ebay filter is just as good as and K&N to another guy telling me I won't be able to find a filter for my intake because there isn't a part number for it. ??? Guess I'm going to have to order it online. Does anyone know of a part number for a K&N filter that will fit a 3" CAI? If so please let me know, getting kinda frustrated with the auto parts stores around here.

I ordered K&N part # RC-4650...This one will fit. http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/store/start I ordered from this site....lowest price I found with shipping included.

I installed it this past weekend. Fits perfect.

My APC 3" cone filter FELL APART while I was driving; the filter element is "glued" to the metal housing that connects to the rubber fitment. IT IS A PIECE OF GARBAGE, like all APC/F&F products. I learned my lesson the hard way. Spend money on a quality filter.

Just order the K&N RC-4650 filter that thajaymann recomended. Not a bad price it was around $38.00 shipped. , thanks for all of your help. :D

Everyone says K&N however when you clean them and put the oil on them to keep them like new...where does the oil go, naturally it goes into the throttle body and will eventually lead to less mpg and a lot of hesitation which no one talks about. K&N isn't the sh*t it is just the most known name.

No... The oil on a K&N filter absorbs into the fabric of the filter and is used to catch the dirt and other particles you don't want in your engine. Eventually the oil DRIES up a bit and needs to be cleaned and re-oiled. K&N is the sh*t.
