Greetings,
I recently installed an Ingen CAI on my I4 and was having some difficulty deciding where to mount the bypass. I ordered a 2.75" bypass under the mistaken impression the whole intake was 2.75". Well the upper piece is 3" and the lower 2.75. What I ended up doing was removing the rubber (silicone) bushing on one side of the bypass and building up the area on the intake tube with pieces of bicycle tube until the bypass fit snug into the 3" section. This allowed the bypass to be mounted at the joint between the two sections. No cutting was required and the intake fits quite well. Has anyone else tried this? Is there a downside? The bypass sits behind the battery with about .5" of clearence.
Thanks
