Well fellas, I'm taking my tax refund and some other cash and buying an OBX catback and, more than likely, the Zex Dry Nitrous kit w/ Silverstone Plugs from Nology. I'm thinking of running a 75 shot...but anyway, just some questions...

1) Is 55 the unofficial Nitrous "roof" for a car w/ standard fuel injectors? Or would I be fine with the 75 dry???

2) Instead of some large, protruding activation switch, is it possible to use the TCS switch instead, for a flush dash finish? (I'll use the TCS and duplicolor paint it red in color)?

3) Bottle Heater and Purge Kit....are they necessary? And if so, which one is more useful for the dollar?

Thanks!

Jarrod

I can answer one of them... purge kits aren't completely necessary, but its a good idea to have one. They clean out the gaseous nitrous oxide in the lines, so it delivers pure liquid nitrous oxide from the start, it helps with starts.... plus everybody likes to see somebody purge, except for the guy you're racing

Though the v6 runs rich, I would say it's not a smart idea to run more than 55hp dry. The injector are only 19 LB. you shold upgrade to 22lb or 28 lb injectors from an LS1 V8 for more than that. You will also need either an FPR or S-AFC to help controll them.

For the activation, you can absolutely use TPS. I ran my NX kit like that. The TCS harnes has a Light blue wire in it. That is the primary voltage line. Tap that and connect to a TPS activation switch form NX, ZEX or NOS, and It should work like a dream. Be sure to use adjustment screw to ensure it opens at WOT

As for Bottle heater and purge. If you are looking for some consiancy at the track, than I would say they are a must. If this is primarily for street, then the purge is more of an intimidation factor since you likely will not be sprayingout of the hole on the street becasue of limited traction. Bottle pressure should alway be over 900psi to ensure proper HP production of the kit, so you may want a bottle heater.

Will LS1 injectors really fit on our cars? Just a question, because I've never heard that. If so, cool I learned something new!
