just installed my Injen CAI and i thought that you didn't have to open the hole for it? Well mine wouldn't go through the whole so i had to use the dremel to make it bigger. I have a 2004 v6 and there was no way i could fit the intake through w/o modifying the hole, and even the directions from injen said you would have too.

Yup, gotta do that with all the intakes. I lined the hole where the intake goes through with some rubber matieral so it won't run a hole through it.

heres what i did. i made a cut in each corner of that place. then bend the metal down. that way there are no sharp edges to hit it. Also just for added safety.. i went to like autozone and got a black coupler.. and threw it on the intake where it passes thru the hole.

No problem here with the Injen CAI. Fairly tight going through the opening, but a lettle squeeze and through it will go. after you get the larger end through you can align the tube so that it has clearance all around the tube.

I just took a large pair of channel locks and bent the sides down enough to cleat the pipe, didn't want to cut the metal and i had plenty of clearance.

ditto no sharp edges either its the quickest easiest and cheapest way to do it
