Hmm, sorry, but that's not a very attractive system. Looks like pieces picked up at the auto parts store.

IMO the borla looks nice and not over the edge.. kore's cans look realy bad to me.. and the greadys tips looks like cannons.. both a style i've allways related to lil civic ricers.

You should also check out www.truckperformance.com. I was on there looking for parts for my truck and they had some Tiburon parts on there as well. They had free shipping on the Borla exhaust. By the way I just put mine on two weeks ago and I love it. It looks good and sounds better than any other cat-back system I've heard.

Why do american companies do things the cheap way? Like using slip connectors & not polished piping? That is why for an Import I will always go with asian parts, unless an american company actually makes something polished stainless.

Well guys, you can get an exhaust system based on a few different things:

Sound
Performance
Looks

I think the last one should be the least important... but that's just me. I like the stock look. Reason being, in my quest for more power, I want my car to end up looking mostly stock on the exterior. I want it to look kinda sleeper-ish. I don't want to advertise that 'hey, I've got a nice exhaust and all kinds of other mods'. I want those ricer punks in their little riced out Hondas to wonder... to THINK they can take me... and then throw 'em a whoopin.

But that's just me.

i personally could care less that my borla piping isn't polished . . . how often does anyone see it?

Fray Adjacent
02-13-2004, 12:00 PM
You mean you COULDN'T care less.

Same here. I'm only ever going to see it when I put it on. I'm not going to get on the ground and ogle my exhaust ever.

realy whats the point of getting a polished stainless system... do u stick your head under every car with a nice looking tip to see of the rest shines to? greadys is not a polished stainless system, just the cans are. i dont see people complaning about that to much.. i Guess the over sized cannons make up for it. (u know at one of the LI tib meets we where able to compleatly stuff a 2L bottle of coke in one side of the greddy, pluged the other side and reved the motor shooting the bottle across the lot)

Hey..
How hard was it to install Borla? I got mine last week and I would have already installed it if I had a garage. I've checked out some exhaust shop and they are asking $150 bucks just to install it. Is that worth it? or should I just try to do it myself... on the street...?

Oh and WagDaddy..
u should check out http://www.madperformance.net I got mine from that guy but it was thru Ebay so i got it for $415... i think they are selling it for less than 500......

borla is really easy, fully bolton. look at the diagram sheet i posted, take off the old mufflers from the y pipe, then take off the resonator from the cat. bolt on the borla and done. can be done in under an hour

Do not pay $150 for installation. Buy a six pack of beer for a friend and do it you self. With 2 people you can put it on easily in less than an hour and that is with a couple of beer breaks.

I'm just curious, but does anyone in Houston, Tx have a Borla system on their tib? I'd really like to hear one in person before I decide to buy the exhaust. Sure, I can hear the clips all day long, but I'm still not going to be completely sure until I can see it for myself.

Thanks.

looks pretty simple except... how do u remove the exhaust from the rubber gasket thingy..? it didnt look like i could just pull it away from it...

You just unbolt it and pull towards the rear of the car I believe, Whenever I finally hit 13's and get tired of my loud ass single, i will be upgrading to Borla, Man nothing like a Borla exhaust on a Tib, it is something else. I mean Borla is an american company that took a chance making a part for a Hyundai, Im glad David Borla took that chance, now Im going to make him like it when that time comes

spray some wd40 on the post in the hanger and work it around a little bit and then pull it out . . . it's sometimes easier to remove the hanger from the car and then reinstall it when putting the new exhaut on

whoa whoa whoa...not all of us are from Illinois! I dont really have to worry about corrosion in georgia, saltings not that big a deal. (I'm moving back to the atl in june...gettin outta the Marines). anyway, i seriously doubt my Injen exhaust will fall off any more than the stock one would. :3_loveit:
