will the CAI from AEM (V6) fit onto the I4 tib?

One word "no." The mounting location onto the engine is different on the i4 than on the V6. Hence why there are two different CAIs, one for the i4 and one for the V6.

When get into the warehouse, I'll take a look for you. I've never seen the AEM 4-cyl CAI out of the box. The part #'s are different: the 6-cyl is 21-521, and the 4-cyl is 21-520...

There is no AEM CAI for the Beta II yet.

I remember someone adapted a V6 CAI to work on the I4 but I don't remember who.....

AEM's part # 21-520 fits the I4 Tib up to '01......

so CarbonBluetiful is quite correct...nothing for the Beta engine yet.

Just checked AOS - they only list applications for the '97-'01 I4 Tib...

...but Injen makes one:

Injen part # RD1380 for the '03+ 4cyl Tib

HotShot also makes one for I4. :)

They suck. Not true CAI. Had one on 2000 Tiburon. It beats stock filter assembly but doesn't compare to true CAI at all.

Actually, ALL CAI's made for the V6 will fit the I4, you just have to buy a 3 inch pipe to make up for the mass air sensor that the V6 has. I have a KORE CAI that was made for the V6, and it fits fine. I bought the pipe from Pepboys, for $1.50. Actually, the location of the throttle bodies in both engines is almost the same exact location for both the 4 and 6 cyl. 8) Someone posted this in the old forum.

do u have ne pics, or exact measurements of the pipe needed to be installed, do u need to have it bent by a mechanic?

HotShot.... www.hotshot.com

Maybe you never heard of them but I will take pics for you when I install it.

I can almost guarantee perfect fit by their own description. Has everything you need. Excellent customer service. And best of all, it's ceramic-coated to reduce heat sink into the intake tract (more HP!) and to protect the finish. No other intake on the market has ceramic coating and no other intake compares to HotShot's price. Be a believer. Buy it. PM Fixer if you want one or you could buy direct if you choose. Call them and see for yourself.

$195 without filter.
$215 with filter.
Plus applicable state sales tax and shipping to your destination (typically $8-10).

Why buy something that isn't made fopr the I4 and you have to jimmy-rig it to fit?

No, sorry I dont have pics or measurements. And No, you dont have to have anything bent for it to fit. If you want a CAI, either get one from Fixer which is specifically made for the I4, or get an AEM or Injen, and buy a bypass valve to make up for the mass air sensor the I4 lacks......Personally I would wait to see pics of the Hotshot intake. And since its an I4, the gains from anything ceramic coated will be minimal on an intake. 8)

First off...the Injen makes one for I4's so no need for BPV. AEM does not make I4 CAI as already stated. And HotShot is the only other big name out there with I4 CAI. I'll post pics. You'll like my set-up.

I believe Speedstate might have one for I4. Not sure.

injen is too expensive for me, i think ill try and get the Hotshot, is it true CAI, or is it a short ram

shark racing has a CAI for the I4

The Power of Dreams

Uh...visit their website...of course it's true CAI. Fixer is the one who did all the foot work in order for HotShot to develop parts for us. They made the intakes and the headers. All ceramic-coated. If you talk with HotShot, ask for Sergio and tell him Mike Baber sent you. He'll help you out. He's a good guy.

I don't know, maybe im stupid, but im on the hotshot website, and I can't find a CAI for the I4 tibs. Found the headers, but no CAI.

Yes it is. Sorry. Should have clarified. I foregt there are Canucks here. :)

Carbon, we all know not all websites update frequently. Most websites only update when they have enough information to update. Most won't do it for just one product. You know, save money or time. But yes, they have it. Fixer did the R&D with them. We all know who Fixer is right class?
