yup that exhaust is a pain in the ass...don't remove it, just shave it down a little...that's wat some people have done so far

there's no "lil" bit of shaving. If you have to modify it, you need to cut off both ends, then slide the internals over a few inches, weld a heat shield on there (since it will be plastic showing right there (with fuel vapors traveling thourgh it...)

OR

you can do it the easy way. remove the laft plug in your hatch, disconnect all the hoses from your charcoal emissions box (4 14mm bolts and 2 10mm bolst, 4 on the outside, and the 2 ar on the inside to get the canister out) and then run the hoses through into youvehicle under youspare tire, reconnect hoses inside your car and reinstall spare. there you go! no modification t charcoal box...AND you just lost about 8 lbs!!! woohoo!

speaking of which, I will be doing it the easy way soon.

I think he's saying that the ease with which a custom single catback would go on, coupled with the difference in gains (practically nothing), isn't worth the crap of cutting, shaping, moving, or humping that annoying black box... ;)

Even with a custom dual catback it would be easier.

actually you could just cut off one of the tail pipes and weld a piece of stainless steel on the hole if you really must get rid of the box
