Anybody here have been following up on the Import Racer Magazine "Project Tiburon" that was unveiled during Sema? I just got my issue today and as I was reading through it I happen to see that it is equipped with an Alpine S/C. It also stated that it is putting out 300 WHP! IS THAT CORRECT?!! 300WHP?! Anybody else heard of it? ??? ???

this came up in the old forums right after sema, they have the alpine stage 2 kit installed on there "project tiburon". as far as what horse power there at, i would like to see a dyno.

I think they said it is estimated at 300 bhp. I would like to see it since it has been painted yellow.

Estimated 300 bhp is prolly about 240-250 whp when dynoed. I doubt the 250whp possibility. But, still good to see that they are still "playing" with the Tib GT V6..........

that is exactly what was stated on the article.

Yeah, you know they dynoed the Tib through all the initial power mods. Why not show a dyno now instead of making unsubstantiated claims. Kind of defeats their purpose of factually demonstating the potential of the Tib GT V6.

I know they used the supposed Stage 2 Alpine upgrade, and had NO2 previously (not sure if it's still there). It could be possible with both the above, but depending on a lot really...

I think the mag has done a lot for the Tib and all of us, first of all it put a Tib in a mag, lol. Most mags do overlook the Tib and don't even give it a chance. A mag company to put the Tib in it's pages for several months is a great thing for all of us. The more publicity the more potential for getting more of a following, which could show to more company's putting out more products, we all would love to have.

I don't see why everyone is doubting this. Everyone was more than happy to say NextGen. got 300whp when he started running 13lbs. of boost when he himself said that he wasn't sure on that because he didn't get it dynoed. We all knew it was close enough though.

I doubt they had to rebuild the engine.

Just think about this, if NextGen.'s stage 2 consists of the smaller pulley, headers, and his stage 1 IM and Alpine's stage 2 consists of smaller pulley (I know there's the ecu and injectors) then Alpine is running more than 8lbs. of boost for stage 2.

Now if they had the Alpine stage 2 and headers (along with the mods they did before), I can see them being close enough to 300whp to post it.

another thing i liked about the Import Racer is that they recognized this forum along with one of our member(Fixer).

I agree with Guns, the fact is, is that they are doing SOMETHING to a Tib. The only other mag I've seen do anything with it is Import Tuner and all they did was the basics, CAI/E/BBTB. It's also given props to this site and Fixer. I say beggers can't be choosers
