Re: The Definitive CAI Explanation Thread

if you're confused, get injen sri, close to cai, you'd sacrify 1-2 hp (if any) and be in peace of mind.

Re: The Definitive CAI Explanation Thread

Wow there is so much to learn about CAI' & SRI'...I thought this would be an easy process but I was wrong!!! Well I do have a question for you veteran Tibby Tuners....I'm currently waiting on SFR Headers & a Tsudo Type X Catback Exhaust System but to add to my HP gain I was thinking about getting an aftermarket intake. After reading most of the posts on this site I'm still a little confused....not to mention I did finally find one that was cheap but should still do the job.....wait that didn't make sense. Anyway I was lookin' on the Shark Racing website and they're selling a SRI for the "low...low" but when you get to order it you have to choose if you have?/need? a 2.7 MAF Sensor Type or 2.7 MAP Sensor Type.....I'm lost please help and explain so I learn something. Thanks

DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH SharkRacing. They are known to have bad delivery schedule lately (sometimes MONTHES)
You can have the same of these lower cost intakes (Short Ram or Cold Intake) from www.kdmstuff.com (SeoulfulRacing, NT.com sponsor section)

Another cheap option, Ebay it, but Don't use the filter provided with the ebay kits, thats is cheap quality , buy yourself a good brand filter (K&N, AEM, INJEN, Fujita, SFR...)

Re: The Definitive CAI Explanation Thread

I've heard mixed things from Seoulfulracing......like products showing up broken or bent. And can I really trust ebay? I've been screwed so many times before trying to trust "ebay" type sites. Could you or someone help me find one?

Re: The Definitive CAI Explanation Thread

I personally have spent couple of grands with SFR, honestly i could not be happier, of quality and delivery.

There are some good sellers on e-bay, but why bother the search and we have respected sponsors in here. I knew these are great to buy from: SFR, ARK, ImportShark, Powerhouse. Check sponsor section.

Re: The Definitive CAI Explanation Thread

So in the beggining of the thread he explains that really all the brands of cai produce the same horsepower. SFR has like one of the most expensive cai and i was thinking about getting it until i heard about this. Injen and AEM will come up with the same hp has sfr cai?

Re: The Definitive CAI Explanation Thread

SFR CAI should be good like you expect. But I dont see how their system comes to be more expensive than AEM, last time I checked
Fujita CAI $225-240
AEM CAI $225-260
SFR CAI $150+$55 for filter=$205 <<< lowest tag price

Short Ram is another story, one best choice = Injen

Re: The Definitive CAI Explanation Thread

so going with cai with it constantly bringing up only a little bit of water when theres splashes or whatever, isnt that bad for the engine over time. and so bvp doesnt work at all right?

No, there is not enough vacuum to pull small amounts of water through the CAI tubing all the way to the engine.
