VIPER alarm not locking the doors... HELP

I have a VIPER 479VP... lately I noticed that when I hit the lock button the alarm activates but the doors are not locking up. It will open them, but not lock them. I silenced the alarm and started trying to get it to lock and noticed that with I hit the LOCK button, I can hear the doors locking up and unlocking inmediatly.

Any idea why would this be? Solutions? Fixes?

Please HELP!

Well did you just install the alarm? Or did you have the alarm for a while and it just started happening? Anyways I would grab a multimeter and check the wirings at the doors.

If someone else installed it, go have it reprogrammed. Warrantees are a great thing. Don't waste them.

Re: VIPER alarm not locking the doors... HELP

same exact thing happened to me shortly after I installed my VIPER system. I found my ground was off. I re-did the ground and everything started acting as it should. I believe when the ground is applied the doors are locked. Therefore, if you do not have a ground your doors will un-lock right away. I may be wrong because its been a while since I did my install.

Re: VIPER alarm not locking the doors... HELP

good info! I will have to take my car to an electronic to have the alarm checked. I think SilverTibbyGT might be right with the actuators. My driver side door is down weeeird things, but before going that way I'll have the alarm checked first, it's cheaper haha.

Thanks guys for all the info!

Cheers
