Question Noisy injectors - how to fix?

So whats the remedy for noisy fuel injectors? I thought it was the valves or the lifters that were making the clicking/ticking noise but it turns out its 100% the injectors (both front and back). What can I do to make them quiet again aside from replacing them ..... fuel injector cleaner?

Thanks

Re: Noisy injectors - how to fix?

No it cleans fuel injectors too.

I don't think it will make them any quieter though. Might as well learn to deal with it, we have noisy injectors. FACT.

Re: Noisy injectors - how to fix?

So I just dump some into the gas tank, like I would do with injector cleaner?
Also I associate loud engine noises that progressively get worse with time as something that is going to do damage. The noise has not gotten any better and only worse, can it do any damage?

Re: Noisy injectors - how to fix?

I hear my injectors more now that I took off my engine cover. If you took yours off, putting one back on might help..

Re: Noisy injectors - how to fix?

It's very audible in the car a thin piece of plastic will do nothing to shield the noise.
How much are new ones?

Re: Noisy injectors - how to fix?

Yea you dump 1/3 in the tank, 1/3 in the oil, and 1/3 through the brake booster hose while it's running (slowly, so you don't have it die on you right away). Then you're supposed to shut it off and wait for 5 minutes, then start it again (it might be hard) and smoke away!

Re: Noisy injectors - how to fix?

All fuel injectors make a clicking noise, its how they are desgined, bearing in mind our cars have six of them.

On the V6 the fuel rails are made of nice thick aluminium, on some cars these are plastic that really cause them to rattle.

The only thing I can suggest is make sure the 12mm bolts are tight in each fail rail, and make sure the steel clips that hold the injectors into the rails are not loose and rattling.

you can always try this:

Re: Noisy injectors - how to fix?

some injectors are just noisy, it doesn't mean that they are broken, and seafoam wont quiet them down
