Sure did!
I dented that primary pipe and shaved off part of the alternator backing.
If you're doing yours now or in the near future and you run into this problem, find out EXACTLY where the alternator hits, and shave away. I found that it was right where one of the alternator's cover bolts is. I don't know if you know exactly what I'm saying, but where the bolts are on the cover, the plastic is raised out. So it kind of makes a "well" for the bolt, I just shaved the "well" all the way down to the curved part of the cover and it helped significantly.
I'm saying, I'd shave the alternator cover BEFORE hitting the header, to better judge how much you'd have to dent the pipe. ALSO, I wrapped that part of the header that I dented, I have a few pictures of it and I'm willing to show you if you like.
