Re: What common problems to look for when buying used tibs?
Yeah, definetely get the clutch checked out... i got my first car from my uncle (dealer) and even after test driving and getting safety'd at a mechanic before purchase, i later found out that the clutch was machined TWICE, making it paper thin and nearly burnt and cracked if i hadnt fixed it. Along with the flywheel. Cost me $800+ and i later found out that my car still jerks whenever i shift gears. Not my driving apparently, its the motor/transmission mounts. Another thing is my whole damn electrical system in the car is upside down. My car doesnt lock manually with the drivers door, but locks both doors when passengers side is locked, my passengers window died, my sunroof seems like it needs a new motor too. Thermostat died recently too but a car is a car and parts die out sooner or later.
As someone stated earlier, the lock actuators, including wiring. so make sure the windows work properly, and everything else. Good luck with finding a tiburon! Nonetheless im a picky person and i want a car that will not cause me problems (like everyone else wishes) but so far having my car for 2 and a half months now that is really the only things i still have problems with/fixed.
P.S. got my car at 118kms.
