Have an 03GT six speed and I noticed lately that there has been a lot of play in the clutch pedal. It just doesnt have that the same amount of resistance or feel when its depressed(if that makes sense) I talked with a coworker of mine who's a mechanic by trade and he took a look at it and said it maybe the clutch master cylinder. He also mentioned that the loose feel in the pedal would only get worse.
To make a long story short I had a few questions pertaining to adjusting the nut behind the pedal. I spent an hour or so turning the rod behind the pedal but this did nothing. So back to the boards i went to search for an answer. I'm still having trouble trying to figure out how to increase the length of the rod so do I need to hold the plastic nut and break the nut directly behind it to make the correct adjustment is my question.
I also had a question about choosing the best clutch master cylinder replacement from what Ive read on the boards the oem replacement is plastic. Has anyone used any aftermarket replacements just curious to know. Also is this the type of part you dont wanna go cheap on and just get the oem replacement. In the link below Im considering purchasing the beck/arnley unit
I have also seen some by pbr and auto 7 whats the best replacement
