right now i just got it back from the dealer the, coil packs, plugs and wires were all replaced, because the coil packs went out. it costed $975

No.....your suppose to redline it atleast once a day....it burns off the carbon build up.
the second rotor does not kick in until 3500rpm.
carbon build up eats away the apex seals and other seals resulting in blown engine.
everyone in rx8club.com recommends to redline it once a day, i even asked the dealer service guys because i thought it was a bunch of, b.s. and they said, although they don't encourage people to do it...it is proven to help extend the life of the rotary engine and plus redlining woun't hurt the engine...you just have to flush the tranny every 30k.
or if you can't redline it once a day you can use a product called bbg or something like that.
anyways, i don't drive this car rough!

Idk man....it's just well taken care off............redlining an rx-8 does not hurt the engine, it's not like a piston engine. it's hard to explain, you just have to ask people who owns them or test drive one yourself......
maybe if u hold it in redline, for a long time it might blow it up, lol but a sec will not....i usually just hear the first ding then let off the acceleration.

yes... the rx8 engines are wierd like that... i was thinking of getting one as my first car, so while dest triving the salesman told me to rev it some before i turn it off to make sure all the excess build up was released

lol...check out hinson motorsports. i think they are working on the ls1 in the 8 not sure if its done yet. i know they have it for the G, Z, and 7. Of course it comes at a high price.
