Old 2003 Tiburon GT V6 Misfire Problems... --FIXED-- 02-15-2008 , 09:44 PM

I need some help, I'm sick of going to Hyundai to get an answer that justs costs me money, and doesn't fix the problem, I'm so fed up, and I just wanna get rid of it for a new car, but I love this car so much.

It started off with a Cyl. 2 Misfire. I went in, they said spark plugs and wires, I changed that still continued, went back, they said injectors, changed them, still continues.

I've spent over 1000 so far from their answers but the problem still continues, I'm really fed up, and I just need to know the possible solutions to fix this.

Had my code read today to keep on top of it, and to make sure its nothing new. Now Cylinder 2, 4, 6 are misfires, here are the codes..

P0302
P0304
p0306
p0300

I do have a vacuum leek in the throttle body from the shop didn't put the gasket on correctly. It's getting fixed tomorrow when I get off of work, I don't think this could cause only 3 cylinders to get a misfire but it could.

Please help!!! I don't wanna throw away any more money and not have the problem fixed. Hyundai refuses to help me now that my car is out of warranty, and both stealerships around me are POSES!!!

Thanks.

Justin

its near the starter ... i dont have a exact location on it, but i think its like a $40 part and its a fairly common problem and it will usually throw a code on all 3 cylinders on one of the banks ... i usually hear of it on the front bank, which is what yours is doing

If it's not the sensor my guess, and it is only a guess, but 2,4,6 are all powered by the same coil pack arn't they? maybe it's a bad coil, how many miles are on the car?

there are 3 coil packs, each cylinder with a misfire is on each coil pack..

I thought it was the coil packs too, but for example, the center coil pack has cyl 2 and 5...

You're probly right, I havn't had a chance to get down and look into it too much. I thought there was only 2 coils, that's all I saw from a quick glance. Only really looked hard enough to fix the exhaust and do oil change so far

Well, I called up Auto Zone, gonna call the dealership after work and see how much a crankshaft sensor is there, but Autozone wants 60 bucks for it. Hopefully dealership will have it less like the injectors .

I hate to ask, but did the dealership do the work to try to fix this problem while the car was under warranty? If so, then they should refund your money since they never solved the problems. If the car was under warranty, why didn't hyundai do the work?

and yeah, listen to Bakerking....

I givz u post count bak. hW
thank u. It was hell being a newb again....

Umm. I USED to have the same problem in my 03' as well. Stop spending money and wasting time and go get it fixed. And repping me for this post isn't such as bad idea either.

I'd like to see this link sticky'd for a while.

I think a camshaft sensor can also cause that. Others are:

* Faulty spark plug or wire
* Faulty coil (pack)
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector
* Burned exhaust valve
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Running out of fuel
* Poor compression
* Defective computer
* Camshaft sensor
* Bad 02 sensor(s)
