Which Clutch Would You Recommend?

I am looking into getting an upgraded clutch by September that can hold at least 250whp. Now, a lot of you know that I am, well, now was, planning on selling my car next year but I had an epiphany today... I realized my car is sexXx:3_chubby:

My clutch has been acting up for a very long time. At high RPM's it doesn't want to shift; the gears sometimes grind, even just putting it in reverse from a parking spot, sometimes it grinds like the clutch didn't even engage.

So anyhow, I am also planning on being Forced Induction down the line (Hopefully by the end of this year; most likely NGM) and really 250whp would probably be my limit. I was wondering if the Clutchmasters Stage 2 would be a good clutch. I really am not planning on getting a Flywheel though.

Give me some tips, really though, don't wanna spend the money on a Flywheel. I rarely ever track my car and never street race. I just want enough power so my friend cannot keep up. (LT1)

^^Thats the clutch I am looking at. I want to know your opinions. Please and Thanks:3_shiny:

The reason I am getting it by September, is because my friend's college = Free Installation. Scary thought, but its whatever

Should I just get a Stage IV for the same price?

It really depends on what you looking for. The stage 4 will be like an on/off switch while the 3 will be a little bit more forgiving on your foot, but might not last depending on how much boost and how hard you are gonna drive it. I got a stage 4 and I don't know if I'm going to go past 250 at the wheels. I'd rather have too much clutch than not enough. And like you said, they're all the same price. I would recommend doing the flywheel too. You can't re-surface the stock dual mass. You're a v6 right?

Clutchmaster stage 4 or South Bend OFE, both have their fans, should be happy either way!

That is a really good link right there :) +rep to you.

Mr Patton... a stage 4 is not un-streetable. Get a 6 puck as opposed to a 4 puck and that makes it a little less aggressive. Also, opt for a sprung hub to smoothen angagement even further.

Better to have more holding power than not enough. Im aiming for 290WHP and I have a stg4 6puck sprung hub.

I'm not planning on too much power and I don't want an on/off switch lol. Think Ima stick with Stg 3.

stay away from the stage 3, i had mine snap the rivets that hold the spline on within the first 550 break-in miles, i replaced it with another stage3 and now it makes this god awful clanking when it is in neutral and at a complete stop, sounds like someone is smacking 2 pots together, and like it is about to snap. i am so nervous about it that i refuse to use it for the reason i bought it for - abuse, lol. i am scared that it too will snap like the first one did, so now i baby the hell out of it. i think i would have been better off with the stock clutch than the cm stage 3. i also have the fidanza flywheel.
i know i am not the only one with this problem, someone else on the boards went thru 3 clutches before they finally upgraded to the stage v, and have been fine since.
