Northern California Hyundai BBQ!!!! Prepare for it

Ok guys start planning for this now! You have 2 1/2 - 4 weeks to prepare! This is a BBQ / Potluck so please make sure to bring something (Either Food, BBQ Items, OR cash for a Grocery run).

We should all just bring cash and go to the market all together so we know what to get. and for how many people. Because everything we will need ie charcoal, lighter fluid, food, drinks snacks etc. will all be there. i think Catherine said she can use her sisters Costco card

Can people make sure to bring cameras so we can document this meet with pictures and videos. Afterward we can drive down Woodside Rd. for some fun windy roads. Just becareful of slow drivers and pedestrians.

I feel that the July 26th is best day to have this because it gives everyone more time to prepare for it.

TO REACH THE PARK:
Use Mapquest to find directions.
When coming to Memorial Park from the bayside of the peninsula, use Highway 84 west from either Highway 280, 101 or 35 (Skyline Boulevard). Travel westbound down Highway 84 from Skyline Boulevard to Pescadero Road near the Town of La Honda. Turn left (south) on Pescadero Road. Follow Pescadero Road to the park entrance.
When coming to Memorial Park from the coastside, use Highway 1 to Pescadero Road. Follow Pescadero Road to the park entrance.

For those who are close to each other, it would be a good idea to meet together at a certain spot then come all together to avoid confusion.

OK people, this isn't just about the BBQ, and meeting new members, it's also about the drive. If I meet Valkare in Redwood City, and the 2 other members from Sunnyvale, and San Jose meets us at Redwood City we can all cruise together down Woodside Rd. It goes straight to our destination and is a very windy, fun mountain road. BE CAREFUL! not only of yourself but pedestrians and bicyclist.

The members from the Fresno area should make sure they take 280 to Redwood City, Woodside Road. Just follow the map picture I posted. Or if you guys leave early enough, you can meet the 4 of us at Redwood City at 7:30am. Since it will probably take about and hour to get there. That way we can caravan with what at least 6 cars.

Sacramento folks. Kat I know your route is taking you the back route. But if you guys want a fun drive. Just stay on 280.

If I can get it off, I will caravan with you.. I can lead with my GPS. We can also meet up with people along the way. since it's in San Mateo, we can set up, meeting points with people in Stockton, Tracy, and Castro Valley. We have to go through those towns to get there might as well =) .. It will also give the opportunity for some central California members to meet up and caravan. I'll try and talk a fellow accent owner i know to come along. I'll email him tonight when i get off of work.

I root for the 26th.. More time to try and get off. If i can get it off i will reply with what I will be bringing.

So I have to work that day BUT it is only for a store meeting.. 6-9am.. Then I am free for the day. =) Earliest i can leave Sacramento is 9:30am. Noon sounds like the earliest I can be San Mateo with meeting up and drive time. Since we didn't post a time frame i hope that's okay.

As far as the Frenso people go, we can set up a meeting point and continue on if my time frame works out for you guys. I'm thinking Tracy will be a good point. If interested then send me a private message and we can set up a time and address.

Any other Sacramento people interested then PM me and we can set up and time and place meeting point in town.

I will be bringing sodas and water. Someone else will have to bring the ice chests. I may also cook some cookies.. I'm a little Martha Stewart in the kitchen hahaha.

well my idea was if we cant get 10 for sure then we'll have to cancel or jus have lunch or dinner somewhere with the few that can go.

lol, i know of a couple mountains, but ive never driven them during the day so i dont know how traffic are on those ie bicyclist and slow drivers. but it starts in redwood city and can go all the way to half moon bay were we can all eat dinner next to the bay. for those who wana stick around.

there also dave and busters in san jose. we can crusie to there and eat play games etc.

you would take CA-99 to CA-152.. Then I-5 to the I-580, and when you get to the I-580 is where out paths would cross

depending on time and what time i work on Monday i am up for a coastal drive and dinner. As far as 'slow drivers' I'm not worried about it.. remember i have an accent (AKA not built for speed.. hahaha)

Has anyone thought of the boardwalk? Rides, beaches, two story arcade with indoor mini golf and laser tag. a mile away is fine dinning on the pier =)

6.5 hour drive Maybe if I am truly bored, Ill come out.

Well i ran into a problem. there are 5 picnic areas we can choose however we need to reserve them. and for small party of 50 at most is $75. if its that much then **** this county park.

but ill call tghem and talk to them

oh and does anyone have a costco card? so we can all goto south san francisco cosco and cruise to get food

You should of researched these things before planning this, especially if you didnt want to pay the reservation fee. Besides, I dont have a problem with giving 5-10 bucks to reserve the park. before giving up on the park, see if others are also willing to pitch in a few bucks for the site.

There is also a cosco closer to the park then South San Francisco to the park..
