Old DIY T on the wheel 02-23-2004 , 06:36 PM

Hello, I have seen people interested at my wheel and I have decided plublish a DIY to it.
Well, you need:

1.- Buy: Tuscani 17in Wheel Caps. You can buy where you like them, but YOU DON'T BUY IN SHARKRACING, because on december I ordered them and I'm waiting notices of SHARKRACING yet, I think they are BANDITS NOT VERY SERIOUS, and I want they payback my money.

2.- Remove the H emblem on the wheel:

3.- Separe the aluminium emblem to the plastic soport. You can use your hands or other tool to make it, but caution because the emblem is very delicated, you can brake 3 but you can't brake the number 4, because you will have to order them other time, but don't order to SHARKRACING.

4.- Make it perfect form. You must to put it on the wheel and with your fingers press until the emblem will be with curve of the wheel.

http://www.pbase.com/image/26320547

5.- Hit the emblem. You can hit the emblem with you like it, two faces adhesive, sealant, silicone, etc...

6. - The result: OEM emblem on we OEM wheel. It's original and very good solution to personalize our fantastic car.

Ok, sorry to my bad English, I'm spanish sorry too. If you have any question or comment let me know please.
Thanks and see you

That second picture looks alot better than the one of you just bending the emblem to the wheel. Can you see any of the hole on either side of the new emblem?

Thanks for this DIY
The only question I have is does the emblem sit flat with the wheel or can you tell its something home made? Just want to make sure it will look good before I do it.

Sorry one last question. Do you have to flaten the sides at all? The part where it holds on to the plastic support. It looks like in the second to last pic they are still down but in the last picture it looks flat.

I thought about this mod. It sounds like it looks nice, but I think there might be a safety concern.

If you get in a little accident, your driver's airbag may explode from the wheel. If and when that happens, the metal piece that you attach may seriously injure somebody by being propelled at their face (it probably won't stay attached with all the explosion).

I know this sounds kind of funny, but I think this is a serious concern. Please consider before modding, its not worth the risk for me.

[ When you pried the flying H off didn't the clips break off inside ...do then rattle around
as you drive ...nice mod...looks very nice...I suggest epoxy (J&B Weld) to glue the H on and when the bag blows the H shouldn't fly off... .

And why the hell is it under "exterior styling?!" Sounds (and looks, for that matter) like and "interior styling" item to me... Anybody else out there not on crack?

When removing the "H".... Do the pins come off and fall inside the steering wheel? Does it rattle? Have you guys damaged the oval at all while removing it? Will a dremel work better?

Can anyone get a better web site for that "T" symbol for steering wheel from ADA? Went to the site listed and it's just a search site.

Thanks

Tuscani Steering Wheel Emblem
Time: A minute or two
Difficulty: None
Tools: Windex and paper towels
Tuscani Steering Wheel Emblem (Note this is not an OEM item)
Source: ebay, search for: Tuscani steering wheel emblem

This one is very easy. Do not remove the Hyundai H. Clean and dry the Hyundai H on the steering wheel. Take the new emblem and peal off the protective paper to expose the glue and install the new Tuscani T emblem. Press around the edges and center to insure good contact and adhesion.
