Will that hold very well? Is it the padded foam kind? A guy at auto shop gave me auto trim adhesive but I'm afraid that if I want to remove them paint will come with.

Auto trim adhesive works fine. It stays pliable and you can remove the emblem later with no harm to the paint.

I know this is the DIY forum... but I said screw it and called a local paint and body shop... I paid 35-40 bucks and they took off both the front and rear and the tiburon and GT logo's

Really? just 40 bucks? is that how much it should normally go for?

Did it still have the holes too?

Thanks to Discover, their useless fake card they mailed to me was the absolute perfect badge removing tool. I was sold on the fishing line idea, but for kicks I took the card to the body, and it took me less than 5 minutes. Now my wall is officially a Tiburon Se V6. For the moment, I've only replaced the emblem badges, not so sure if I'm going to put anything else on.

Did mine the other day.......super easy. I only took off the Tiburon and the SE V6.....gotta wait until I get my Tuscani badges to take off the H's. I used dental floss and it was hot outside, so didn't have to use any other source of heat.

Hooray for DIY's!

On my 2003 tib, the "tiburon" lettering on the rear is black and seems kinda soft and like it'd fall apart messily if I tried to take it off with fishing line. Can I take it off cleanly? (Doesn't 2004 and up models have metal "Tiburon" lettering? 2003 lettering isn't metal...) I already replaced my H's with the T's and that was no problem but I'm scared to butcher the Tiburon lettering trying to replace it with Tuscani. Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched but couldn't find.

Also is it ok to use regular goo-gone instead of the auto one?

Btw I was in Pennsylvania over the weekend, in what seemed to be a very nice neighborhood visiting a friend... Hours later my boyfriend told me someone stole my front "T"!! GRrrrr... How grimey is that?? It's like $10! Cheap *** mofos.

Please read posts carefully.

Believe me i know it's a pain to go back and read a bunch of things but many ?'s are answered in previous posts. But i'm a nice guy and i'm bored so i'll help ya out.

This info is from other people though (above, etc..) as I see it.......

The hood and trunk have emblems with posts. 2 posts in each "hyundai" emblem.
Pop 'em out with a cc or something.

The LETTERING on the trunk is easy enough to pick off w/your fingernail. you can even scratch off the glue too. Each letter is independant. For now I have "TIB" on mine until "Tuscani" shows up in the box.

If you're thinking of going badgeless? try pulling off the "GT" and placing it over the 2 post holes on the trunk. or hood, whatever. (if you have a GT)

Hope this helps and gives it a good bump. =D

yes i'm a newbie. this forum is awesome. thanks to all!

The Tiburon and GTV6 logos come off real easy... I let my car sit out in the sun for a couple of hours and went outside used my fingernail to lift up and edge and just pulled the logos off... I then used my fingernail to scrape the remaining glue off the car... then I used windex to wash to rest of the residue off... looks professionally done and took all of 5 minutes to do...

I used fishing line, credit card, and auto "bug & tar remover". After which I used a damp cloth to wipe away the bug & tar remover. Worked fantastic. No scratches, old emblems were still in one piece, and didn't have to bother with using heat.

if you heat up the emblems with a hair dryer then they will pop right off...then use a drill with those things that are pretty much a giant earaser attachment to get the gunk off ...but do it slow and dont stay in one spot for too long or you will burn the paint...it took me about 15 min to do this all...my friend who used the goo be gone stuff left swirl marks...

project ORS-350 begins...
