Old DIY: Emblem Removal 04-13-2004 , 11:34 PM

I'm sure most people can figure out one way or another to do this, I just thought I'd share mine since it was quick, easy, scratchless, and I saved my old emblems.

Tools Needs
2 Cable Ties
Windex or other glass cleaner
Hyundai Protection Plan or other similiar membership/credit card
1 rag

Instructions
Getting the Emblem Off
Push the cable ties under the sides of the emblem then tie them off

Then move them around the the circle as far as possible around the top and bottom to get as much glue apart as possible. ending up in the red circles below.

Be gentle with the next step if you want to keep your emblems.

Slowly wiggle each side individually, pulling very lightly on the cable ties. Pull on the left lightly, then pull on the right, back and forth until it slowly separates form the glue. With much patience (although it should take you less than a minute), You'll end up with your emblem fully intact off of your car. You'll end up something like this.

Grab yoursle fsome sort of credit card or other plastic scraper and carefully scrape off a little, spraying periodicly with the windex, or rubbing vigorously with something like this.

Afterwards (hopefully), it looks like this.

Then its just a matter of removing the backing off of the new emblem, and securing into the provided holes. In the end, it should look like this.
