Old dealer warrenty issues again!!! :((((( 04-20-2004 , 01:25 AM

this bites, woke up this morning waked out to the driveway and it looked like my car was bleeding to death. all my transmission fluid had poored from my tranny, iwas hoping it was just a gasket but when i jacked up the car to take a look their was a 2 inch crack in the tranny housing it looked like a stress fracture or somthing mind you ive only had the car 27,000 miles. so i figured my local dealership would fix it no prob. but then i rembered there dcks, so as i predicted they tried to find away to screw me again by by saying i did somthing to the car which caused the problem. i admit i do have alot done to the car. which probly made them go oh this ones gona be easy when they looked under the hood CAI,headers,exhaust,st3 IM,nology hot wires, silverstone plugs, ground kit etc...... so anyways they tried to tell me they werent going to fix my car because the differential was really f*ckd up, and since my front tires had no tread they said i was probly neutral droping it and thats what caused a piece of the tranny to ripp through the housing. the main reason im pissed is because i dont neutral drop my car,and now their trying to get me to pay for something that i wasent responsible for. i feel like every time i goto the dealership its not "lets fix the problem" its "lets try to weasle our way out of having to pay to fix the problem." i hate my local dealer (towne hyundai rt.10 in northen NJ)

Thats because we have an open faced differential. I had the same problem with my SHO. I went through 4 trannys cause the differential kept losing the spider gears and they would pop through the tranny case and all my fluid would leak out. Do you have an auto or a stick?

Its a Jeep thing....and Im still trying to understand

My Cherokee is faster than your Tiburon. And it handles better in the snow.

Print a copy of the above link. Take it to your dealer, tell them you want them to be specific as to which aftermarket part caused your transmission to fail. Tell them you want to talk to the local rep. and you will be calling Hyundai Corporate and the BBB. Tell them you want it in writing which part caused the failure. Good luck.

They are OBLIGATED to prove without any doubt that you have an aftermarket part that caused your transmission to fail. and since you have nothing that will increase iput torqu above the max amoutn for the tranny, they are OBLIGATED to fix it under warranty, due to having no grounds to stand on in a warranty claim denial. Tell them that it is very costly for you to not have a car and the longer they draw it out, the more it will cost them, since they still make money on warranty work. (they bill Hyundai for all work and parts)
