Is it possible to distinguish between:
1 - possibly bent fork in the transmission which disengages the clutch
2 - Worn Out Throw-Out Bearing
3 - Bad Master Cylinder
The history behind my question is that the clutch has to be to the floor to disengage (normally it doesn't), and at times at a stop i was locked out of 1st gear because the clutch would not disengage. I had the clutch bled and the problem occurred less frequently yet still occurred. And at a stop with the engine running and with my foot barely on the clutch petal I can feel the clutch chatter to an extreme. The petal itself vibrates a lot when slightly compressed during the problem as well. Under normal operation the clutch petal is perfectly fine and has a normal "throw" to it. The clutch also has ~40K miles on it, but when in 1st gear and throttle wide open the clutch does not slip. This is an intermittent issue that I feel has serious consequences. Any ideas as to the problem child?
