im new to this so i hope i dont step on any toes... im looking to possible but a supercharger for my tib. but i have two issues one is i cant seem to find one and two the numbers dont seem to add up. the car stock is rated at about 176hp and a stage 0 supercharger cost about $4000 from what i have read and boost the hp to only about 200hp. to me that seems like a lot of money for only about 30hp gain. can anyone help clarify this for me. thank you

Re: The Ultimate Supercharger Thread

You want a quality kit, go with NGM. If you want big numbers, you gotta pay to play. Thats the rules of the boost game.

LOL....... no, your car only has about 145ish whp and by just bolting on the Sniper S/C you gain 55+ whp and that's pretty damn good for just bolting on and going. If you do the Stg1 Sniper
(that's with the heat exchanger) and get the ECU reflash with that setup you'll easily push 225-230whp on stock injectors and have a great daily driver....... Just to put that in 1/4 mile power, with a good launch , that's a low 14 second very high 13.90 second car

Re: The Ultimate Supercharger Thread

welcome young fruity~~ the stock car is rated for 170 bhp. The stage 0 gets you nearly/around 200 whp. that is approximately a 50 hp gain. You are paying for the components. If you want more power than that, it is relatively cheap to gain more power for relatively little money. If you want the cheapest power, you will have to make a custom turbocharger kit.

Lightest DD tib? 2593 lbs
Don't beat me GK27V6

IS-F 3723 lbs

You're going to have to have a tranny jack your tranny at a tranny shop.

Re: The Ultimate Supercharger Thread

I've been looking into a stage 0 ngm sniper kit and have few questions about it. I'm rtying to know everything I need to know before doing it. So besides the sniper kit what else would I need to have? I know I can use the stock injectors but what advantage would come from lil bigger ones? SOme say I'd need better engine mounts but I've also heard some say you don't. Will useing my stock ecu be too risky and need a reflash as not to run rich or will I be ok? Will I need to take it to get tuned?

Also will I wanna get piller/gauges with only stage 0?

Bear with me I'm still learning P.S. my car is my DD

Stage 0 means no mods needed. You can run that completely stock and be safe. I recommend doing injectors and motor mounts along with a new clutch to keep everything reliable.

Saludos my PR friend, I think the real issue is finding someone who will tune it. Might be in the range of 350 - 450

8psi with the vortech isn't going to hit 350-450. On 24lbs. with E85, intercooling, hydra, and all supporting mods I'm making 442whp. I'd be more conservative and say 270whp or somewhere in there. IIRC it takes a stage 2 vortech ~12psi to hit 300 at the tire.

LOL... true story. My car was tuned on a loaded dyno that reads notoriously low even for being loaded so I may have somewhat of a skewed reading. But, like I said I'm pretty sure it was the 10-12psi mark on stock block for 300whp. Nonetheless, awesome to see another vortech out there. Maybe the PR's can unleash the power of the vortech too.

He said on low boost it will be good on stock internals. I have I/H/E. Any inputs or advice?
