Blue Tib: Bronze rims or not?

I have a Blue 2004 Tiburon (see attached jpeg) and I will be purchasing wheels for it soon. I want it to look clean and not stick out too much. I ordered some GR-2's and lowering springs....easy enough, but this wheel decision is killing me. After weeks of searching found some I really like.

http://www.wheelsnext.com/default.cf...1&color=BRONZE

http://www.wheelsnext.com/default.cf...color=GUNMETAL

Has anybody ever seen these wheels in person? Are the colors in the photos accurate? It seems that the gunmetal is extremely dark, almost black. Is this a normal gunmetal color? What is the difference between gunmetal and hyperblack? I would think gunmetal would be lighter-colored than hyperblack but it seems to be the opposite.

I am stuck.....what do you guys think? Go Bronze? Go Gunmetal? Go different wheel and color?

Also, if anybody has any photos of blue Tiburon's with bronze or gunmetal wheels please post them or e-mail them to me. Much thanks.

Awesome wheels. More expensive that gramlights though....

I looking at $1000 with tires.

My gas cap is starting to chip around the edges and it's a non-gloss blue. Good call.

Re: Blue Tib: Bronze rims or not?

Yay for Tidal Waves!

As far as color, I think black/chrome lip looks good on pretty much any color. I personally hate bronze and gold color rims, so I would either suggest black/chrome or gunmetal.

Ok, I still don't get this though -- to me, flat-black and some gunmetal rims look like they are just wheels with no hubcaps on at first glance. Can someone please explain the friggin' hype?!

I have the same problem with black rims. You have to look really hard to see the design and pattern of the wheel.

I was just pointing out how the Buddy Clubs and Gramlights coincided in that I can't afford them. I can see how the wording made that confusing.

Hahaha this is awesome dude. I'm in Knoxville too with the same damn car!

I actually think I know that apartment complex too. I have a friend who lives across the way. I just got some gunmetal rims. If you want we can meet up and you can see them in person. I think I might be stopping by there anyhow later this week. lol

Re: Blue Tib: Bronze rims or not?

Yeah I like both options too. My rims were also available in a light bronze, but to tell you the truth, I went with gunmetal because you can never tell if they are dirty or not. I kinda like that.

Thanks!

MB Motoring "Weapons" (think they're marketed under the "A-Tech" brand name in other markets.)
Mine are 17x7 but they offer them in 17x8 too.

I think the 17x7's are about 17.5 lbs. So semi-lightweight.

black rims on black looks great, but if you want a clean look, go with Bronze and chrome lip

Re: Blue Tib: Bronze rims or not?

Woot, MB Motorsports Weapon FTW!!! THey also come in Bronze and 18"!!!

Get a nice Bronze wheel for the blue tibby. You can't go wrong, unless the wheels are really ugly that is, lol.

The Tenzo's you posted aren't bad looking rims, they are just really close to stock looking and they are a style of rim that's very common. I'd look for another model if it were me.

All hope and no change make Obama something..... something......

response to an earlier post, you can't tell if bronze wheels are that dirty either.

Re: Blue Tib: Bronze rims or not?

+1 for the dirt remark......i had bronze rims on my black tib.....sold them about a month ago though.....the bronze color is going to be lighter than the pic online....and a tad more gold to it, but not excessive though, IMO they look waaaay better in person than online....websites dont even begin to do justice to bronze rims and how good the finish looks.....please go bronze....black rims with a chrome or silver lip on a blue car would look soo ghey.....happy hunting

something like this would look absolutely sick.....
