What are the best tires for ride comfort?

I need to get some tires for my 17s. I want to buy tires that will provide a quiet smooth ride. Basically, I don't want to feel every bump on the road.

Re: What are the best tires for ride comfort?

well the oem size is 215-45-17 you can get a larger sidewall with 225-45-17 that may help reduce some noise,,,,,also if you pick a "all season" tire versus a "sport" tire the tread will last a little longer as well.

Khumo ASX, SSA headers, Cat-back, Magnaflow Cat, Billet Grille,
Motor Mount Inserts, Clutchmasters Stg 2, Fidanza Flywheel, BassTib STS, 32% Tint, TiburonGT Door Sills, Alpine cda 9853, Diamond Audio D3 series components, Sony Xpod amp.

Re: What are the best tires for ride comfort?

Yeah, I know what tire size to get. But different tire brands have different characteristics. So was wondering what brand of tire to get.

Has anyone ever used GOODYEAR ESSENZA TYPE R tires?

Check this out here:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/index.jsp

It gives you a whole bunch of ratings for tires depending what category you want. Select the category and your good to go. This is what the results look like:

I got the Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S which I love!

2004 Silver Auto GT with Borla Exhaust, AEM Cold Air Intake, Eibach Pro-Struts and Pro-springs, DC Sports front strut bar, Pioneer AVIC N3, S2000 Antenna, Medium Tint all around, Clifford Matrix Responder paging alarm with remote start, Tuscani KDM Emblems, Anytime On Foglights, 6000k HID's for headlights and foglights, 2006 front bumper and headlights conversion.

Toyo Proxes 4's

I hated them, you'd probably love them. I like to feel all the bumps.

They were fine, just that the person I used to get the tires from shut down his business. I may get them from someone else though.

Re: What are the best tires for ride comfort?

I had Toyo Proxes 4 's on my Tib and loved them. They were a lot quieter and smoother that the original Michelins. They were wearing better too... when I traded the car off, they still looked new with 15K miles on them.

Re: What are the best tires for ride comfort?

Uneek, give me a call and I will be able to get you the pricing. I carry a wide variety of tires in stock. On my Accent I run the Toyo Proxes 4, they have really good grip, and are really good in the rain. I have had some customer's that run the Goodyear F1's and tell me that they are great, but they wear out real fast and are a lot more expensive than the Toyo tires. Call me and I will see what I can do, or drop me a e-mail brian@wheelwarehouse.com

I'll have to agree with the killer grip although the sidewalls get kind of soft when they warm up, hence why I was so surprised at how well they handled at high speeds. Not even a little slip even though it was raining pretty hard.
