Thumbs up AtelierHP alternator relocation kit

Well after much half assed building and cut corners I decided to move my alternator and remove my power steering. My children are now officially too big for the back seats with any reasonable amount of comfort, so I have begun turning my car into a track toy.

Here are a few pics of the process within my engine bay, all things are in place I just have to finish routing the power wires to the alternator...also I am constructing a new exhaust and downpipe so I just have a little elbow there for now to avoid damaging the turbine blades.

Well in light of my turbo blowing its seals yesterday I stepped off on a new adventure and ordered some stuff.

Re: AtelierHP alternator relocation kit

i usually get the alternator wires out of the front part of the stock harness and move them back to the alternator
(the come from the fuse box,so they already pass right over the transmission, once you get them out of the front part of the harness up to the transmission, re-route them back to the rear with the existing wires that goes to the starter, makes for a much cleaner look, and less wiring/splices)

BTW, flip your compressor housing 180 toward the bottom, and pass your piping in the lower part of the engine bay

Re: AtelierHP alternator relocation kit

The kit comes with a mounting bracket to fit where the AC compressor was, a pivot like arm to bolt up the bottom of the alternator, all required bolts and a new belt...just need to tell them what crank pulley you have and they will supply the correct size one.

You will also require the AC tensioner pulley from an 01+ Tib/Elantra I believe.

Re: AtelierHP alternator relocation kit

slow 2K2GT is right
main bracket, lower bracket/strut,spacer and required bolts are included
the only extra part needed is an A/C tensioner pulley and bracket (most of us have one gathering dust somewhere)

if you re-route the wires from the fuse box to the back of the engine you don't need any extra wires

Re: AtelierHP alternator relocation kit

need to reply longer.... the alternator kit, I just called up to Canada, and he said about $125 American dollars. About ten days to ship, not in stock. I like A/C but want my turbo on in a hurry. Interesting comment to run air under stuff, not over the engine from compressor. hmmm.
