My "budget" build haha

Figured I'd make one of these as a way to post updates on my supercharger build

Bought my tib in 2012 not knowing anything about it other than it looked awesome! I soon found out that it lacked in the performance department and began looking into ways to improve speed a bit. I found the NGM sniper kits on importshark but they took them down before I had the cash for one. Found out Fiebruz had bought out NGM so I eventually bought their stage 0 kit. I originally wanted to do a budget build but found out that a stage 0 kit did not produce the power I was looking for so I set about finding stage 3 parts. I had the supercharger on my car for short while but the install was rushed due to Import Alliance. I ran it untuned and it ran pretty rough and I believe I was running lean. I didn't have an oil catch can installed so the blower got all the blowby junk ran through it. The powder coating on the upper manifold was not very durable and was chipping away so I decided to take the supercharger off and send it to Neztec for a rebuild. While I'm waiting I decided to get everything I needed for a full blown stage 3 build, (no more budget build at this point haha) so here I am with thousands invested and I'm not done yet. I have some pretty good supporting mods in place and I'm going to get more when I can. Here's what I have:

-Fiebruz stage 0 supercharger kit
-NGM icebox
-NGM 70mm throttle body
-NGM solid motor mounts
-NGM 6.5" pulley
-NGM stage 2 reflash
-NGM lower intake manifold
-Maintec headers
-Ark v2 exhaust
-AEM cold air intake
-Nology hotwires
-BDR radiator hose
-Mishimoto radiator
-Megan Racing straight pipe
-Redhorse stainless hoses for icebox
-Stage 2 clutch
-Shark Racing short throw shifter
-Short block w/pauter rods & CP pistons
-Crower cams
-Eiback lowering springs
-Luxon mid-chassis brace
-Luxon rear frame brace
-Whiteline rear sway bar
-RRM front strut bar
-Hana bumper cover
-NIA sideskirts
-NIA eyelids
-Siebon CF hood
-Shark Racing rear window spoiler
-Full Blown Motorsports rad brackets
-ZL1 Camaro intercooler pump
-Glowshift boost guage
-Glowshift a-pillar guage pod
-Thermatec upper/lower intake gaskets
-Walbro 255lph fuel pump

Mods I will soon get:

-Glowshift dual channel wideband guage
-Glowshift oil pressure guage
-Mishimoto baffled oil catch can & lines
-R1 concept rotors

I'm probably forgetting some stuff but if anyone has any advice or input let me know I'm still learning lots of stuff and I'm always looking for tips from the more experienced members. Thanks in advance for suggestions etc. 🙂

This looks good so far buddy, I've really enjoyed following this on Insta. You'll for sure want to look into some bigger injectors. I'd also look into bumping up from a stage 2 clutch to something with more bite. Looking forward to see you come.good with this project.

Installed Mishimoto parts:
MMHOSE-TTIB03RD (upper & lower silicone hoses)
MMBCC-MSTWO (compact baffled oil catch can)
MMRS-ARD (aluminum radiator stays)
MMSK-BK (weighted shift knob)
MMOFC_MUS2-RD (aluminum oil cap *modified*)

Thanks buddy! Forgot to mention I do have the 310cc injectors ready to go for stage 2 but I'm guessing I'll need bigger ones for stage 3. As for the clutch I will be getting a new one but I'll probably keep this one on for a bit and see how she does. Looking forward to seeing more of your build as well

You could look at the BK1 2.0T injectors as they flow at 440cc @50psi if I remember correctly. You can get them cheap through Albert on Facebook.

Re: My "budget" build haha

Does you stage 2 reflash take into account your Crower Cams? If not, you could run dangerously lean. Also for the reflash you MUST run the exact injectors the reflash was made for. Injectors have their own specifications that must be programmed into the ECU like response time and battery voltage offset. If you don't do this I fear your going to blow that freshly built engine.

With all the cash you've got in it why not go standalone? Your trusting a reflash that was probably done on someone else's car that didn't have all the mods you have. Risky business for sure.

My cams are for a naturally aspirated engine so I figured they probably aren't too harsh but I'll probably wait until I get a standalone to install them. I understand your concern with the reflash and I'm only going to run it on stage 2 and I also have the exact injectors that the previous owner used. It's one of TC's good reflashes I've heard he did a few that blew ppl's engines but this one is tried and true and the previous owner had basically a copy of Requiem's sniper setup which is what I'm going for as well. I would pull the trigger on a standalone but that's another $2500 and I'm trying to buy a house here shortly so I'm gonna just run the supercharger on the reflash until I get more disposable income.

Re: My "budget" build haha

Be warned Requiem blew his engine and he was running meth injection. How do I know? I was the one that bought his sniper set up. He lied to me saying everything was in good shape and when I got it all the rotor coating was gone and the bearings were trashed from spraying meth into them. So I wouldn't trust anything from him or even a copy of something from him. If you don't go standalone then I have to say a dual wideband monitoring set up is a must.
Also cams designed for a N/A build tend to create larger valve overlap, which is precisely what you DON'T want in a boosted set up.

Ok I don't know much about cams so I'll just leave them off I guess. Also I did not know that about Requiem I thought he had a solid build and reputation but selling you a trashed blower is no bueno. I'm going to do a direct injection meth setup not running mine thru the blower bc I've seen what meth does to a blower I picked up for Mufasa. Hopefully I can run the reflash successfully but if not I'll have to break down and buy a standalone lol. Thanks for the advice sir

If the reflash isn't designed to compensate for meth injection your gonna have issues.
