Smile XG350 Calipers on 2008 Tiburon

Hey,

I am quite new to the forum. I searched around and couldn't find much on putting XG350 front calipers on a 2007-2008 Tiburon. I have a 2008 Tiburon with a 6 speed manual and I am looking to upgrade my front calipers. I see a lot of people put XG350 calipers on their cars since they are duel piston. There are no XG350's at the junk yard where I live so I'd be looking to buy everything from online. I believe my rotor's are 12" already. The calipers from RockAuto seem to come with brackets as well. Is there anything else that I would need or will everything bolt on fine?

Thanks
Draken8er

Rockauto sells the caliper with the bracket. That would be all you need since you already have the 12" rotors. Were your stock calipers red? If not you do not have the stock 12" drilled rotors and you would need rotors.

Thanks for the reply.

My current calipers are not red and they do not say Hyundai. Should I get XG350 rotors or Tiburon rotors or are they the same?

Well you can go after the 07-08 stock SE cast cross drilled rotors but I'm sure they are pricey. Even though SFR used to sell a kit with the xg350 calipers and 12" SE rotors I would just go with the XG rotors.

RAYBESTOS 980596 is an aftermarket version of the 07/08 SE rotor. There's ONE available on Amazon right now for $25...

https://www.amazon.com/Raybestos-980.../dp/B002FSSD0O

The other would have to be ordered from RA for $46...

Re: XG350 Calipers on 2008 Tiburon

Did the conversion on my sons 2006. Used XG 350 rotors and calipers. Easy afternoon. Looking back I probably would have found XG 350 dust shields as well to fit the rotors. Only down side is the spare tire no longer fits on the front. Solution, when you get flat in front, put spare on back and move back tire to front. No cost solution.
