Charlie-III, I tried to PM him, just disappeared. This freakin' little part is causing me grief! I'm putting the car back to stock, get it running, sell it. On top of that, the town is now *****ing about it in my driveway.

    Hi Charlie,

I finally got the answer back on my car. The timing chain tensioner was missing, because it apparently broke and the pieces went all through the engine.

Chain, not belt. I've replaced the belt twice. My mechanic told me that the chain is not supposed to be replaced, which I've ever heard before. But he's also seen this before, as well.

It requires a new engine, and I don't think it's worth it. I don't do my own repairs, so it would be $5400 to put in a used one.

I think this is the end of me being a tiburon owner. It was a fun almost 15 years. Except that everything kept breaking.

    Good luck with yours.

    Hello Charlie,
I hope you're having a good summer. I remember you mentioning that you sometimes use Purolator oil filters on your Tiburon. Are you happy with their performance?

    Hey Charlie--
I'm curious... when I win the lottery and decide to give out free motorcycles... would you prefer a Harley-Davidson or a Suzuki or Yamaha racing bike?

Sorry to bother you with such a noob question but I know you are always helpful so thought I would ask.

I'm trying to upload a pic but it just wont work. I have tried many file/image sizes but nothing. its a Jpeg I am using and I cant get on photobucket (work lunch hour :grin2:) so was wondering if you can point me in the direction of what I might be doing wrong?

When I go to upload it I get an error "Upload failed" every time. Has the upload process changed since the update of the site?
I looked at the newbie "How to upload a picture" thread but it seems to be different hence my last question.

Also I have 24 posts so that isn't the problem.

In reply to your question about my Legacy, I did have the EJ25 DOHC which was indeed notorious for HG leaks. It had actually overheated for the first time as I was getting it's last inspection done before I let it go, but that was the only time so I'm not sure if that ever actually developed. 156k too! My main back-breaker was the top lip of the gas tank (right where it bolts to the body) had started corroding really bad, you could smell fuel from the outside of the car and especially in the cabin... it was very unsafe haha. Considering the differential it was a lost cause for a DIY job, and too costly for my fast food job. Some day I'll have another as a Winter vehicle :) If they stop making the new models look so generic that is....
