so i have this 07 sonata and it comes with a lot more horses than a stock tib (172 vs 234)....wondering, has anyone looked into doing a motor swap and if so does the tib tranny bolt on to the sonata engine? figured i would ask, somethin diff to do

Forget the Sonata 3.3, if you're going to go through the effort to do the swap, you might as well step up to the Azera's 3.8 (263-hp!)

Considering the aftermarket for the tiburon is fairly small still... and there is no aftermarket for the 3.3 and 3.8 here... you would be stuck at the base HP unless you wanted to have a lot of custom stuff fabbed up. There was a post a while ago about some people in Korea that had done the 3.3 swap. It was a tight fit.

The cost of fabrication, a new motor, etc would be more than just getting your engine blown.

the money ull spend to do the swap, get a motor, and pay for aftermarket parts like the other guy said would cost jus as much as u getting blown with a built motor. the swap is a dumb idea bc no one has the money to do it and it wouldnt be worth all the time and money. but if u wana waste more then 5k to do a motor swap :3_winkthu
