I am out here putting the 2.0l and 5 speed trans from my tiburon in my brothers veloster. I have the entire harness pulled. I have the engine running, what I am wondering is what can I eliminate from the harness. I don't have access to wiring diagram so any info would be awesome. Thank you all. I can take more detailed pics of the harness if it helps.

That sounds like an interesting project. Are you keeping the OEM ECM or going standalone with it?

There isn't much you can delete from the OEM 2.0 harness without receiving a CEL. But you can delete your EVAP and downstream O2 sensors from the harness without affecting runability.

I can get you a pinout for the SIMK43 ECM harness later when I get to a computer. Anything specific you are looking for?

Id like to stay oem for now. I have an safc2 on the oem ecu for when I had the blower and then turbo which wasn't ideal for the turbo. But to get going I am throwing the engine in stock to begin. I feel dumb but idk how to say it. I want to remove the extra body stuff without affecting the engine section of the harness. Guessing I am overthinking it. I just get nervous hacking stuff up without any wiring diagrams to correct myself if and when it goes south. Thanks for looking.

Cool 😎!! Thanks man! I got fused power and a ground run to the ecu I had those labeled from the safc2. Completely unhooked bcm. Jumped the starter and got it running. Shop manual has wiring diagrams and pinouts? I am just tracing wires at this point. Been just running from fuse box cutting out the stuff I know isn't needed.

Indirectly it shows you ECM pinouts in the schematic diagrams but it's broken up into different systems. If you look in the Electrical Troubleshooting .zip file under the SD.pdf file you will see grayed out blocks labeled "ECM" where it will show you pin numbers. Double check the manuals to ensure it applies to your donor vehicle 2004+. Your SIMK43 ECM differs greatly from the earlier SIMK41 variant from 2002-2003.

For example the MFI CONTROL SYSTEM shows the ECM pin numbers it uses specifically in diagrams like this:

This is awesome 👌🏾, and tbh should of been the engine these velosters Came with , definitely should eventually get a standalone ecu and boost it

Shes seen a couple setups... Super charger then turbo a few years later once the intake manifold on the supercharger started developing cracks. Engine management definitely held me back with the turbo. Absolutely going stand alone once this is all sorted. Any standalone recommendations. And once again thank you all for the help!

But it all comes down to a person who can tune.

I would personally convert to an early SIMK41 OEM ECM that supports a MAP sensor and tune on that. The harness plug pinout to the ECM is completely different but you can repin it and use the MAP harness in place of the MAF harness. There isn't a lot of information out there for tuning the OEM ECM but I have had some success reading/writing a relocated and removable EEPROM. I have also located a few maps on the SIMK41 that are useful for tuning. I can give you some of my information on it but it's still a very slow work in progress.

The general consensus on standalones is to call your local tuner and ask what they recommend. They will have their own preferred setup they know best. Doesn't help if you buy a lesser expensive DIY/opensource Megasquirt or Speeduino just to find out they only support Haltech or AEM.

I’m having issues trying to pull up the ECM SIMK 43 Pin out for the 07 auto I4….

I dug up an old text file in my archives that appears to be a BETA II ECM harness for the engine management side. Unfortunately I did not find the automatic transmission control side of the SIMK43 pinout. I'll check Mitchell on Demand to see if I can find something later in the weekend and let you know.

As far as computers go stay away from AEM. They suck and their customer service sucks and every product I've ever had from them works for a year and then started to have glitches.
