Hi everyone
Can anyone help me to find what 02 sensors should i use on my 2,5 v6 gls 2001 sonata? I know its not a tiburon but i cant find the answer anywhere. I know there are two types off oxygen sensors used one is titanium the other is zirconium and they have diferent wiring plugs and diferent voltage outputs. But i dont know if the 2,5 uses only one or both types as tiburon. My 02 wiring and plugs have been butchered by 1000 mechanics and i cant count on them if they are the ones that came from the factory,When i bought the car the o2 wiring was all wrong and the + and - for heating circuit was wired to the signal and signal groud on the 02 sensor and vice versa on both sensors. I figured the right wiring and rewired it corectly.

I bought new 02 sensors they are the old titanium type 0-5V (Bosh 0258986602 universal sensors without plugs) i dont know whether they will work with my car. The old sensors were also the titanium ones which probably broke because of the bad wiring, My engine only have the upstream sensors the downstream are not present in this engine.

Please if anyone can help me I will be very grateful. I need to know what sensors to use and what is the right wiring plugs for my car, because our Eropean emision standarts are wery high and you cant have the slightest error int the emisions otherwise you wont past the test.

You almost have the correct 0-5v O2 sensors. You will need a known OEM brand such as NTK, Denso or Mando brands. Generic sensors will not work correctly with our Siemens ECUs unfortunately. Even a reputable brand like Bosch will not perform well and often lead to heater circuit CELs. If the pinout differs, this is the first I've heard of it. Can you provide your VIN number? Maybe we can help track down the correct sensor if the connection differs.

I believe your ECU is the Siemens 5WY12 with 2mbit EEPROM variant which is very similar to the Tiburon's 5WY15 variant which requires the titanium style 0-5v sensors.

Thank you for your answer. I definetely have MAF sensor. Its kind of strange...maybe someone did an engine swap on my car?
I can look around in our Slovak market for some MAP sensor ECUs but those cars are wery rare in here probably like 4 of them in the whole country
Now i need to know if my engine was originaly in my car to know what sensors to use.
Do you by any chance know what the zirconium plugs looks like? Or how i can identify my engine?
