Hello, the issue i’m currently having is no AC, however, im really just trying to pinpoint the issue.

what i know so far is,
  • the AC fuse in the interior fuse box blows as soon as i start the car, every single time
  • the climate control panel is completely unresponsive, the buttons don’t do anything and the display doesn’t light up or show any readings
  • all ac related relays have been tested and work
  • according to the previous owner, the compressor was replaced recently
  • upon taking apart the head unit, the display has some fuzzy edges, which i’m guessing was caused by some kind of short (see attached image)
so what i’m trying to figure out is, do i just need a new climate control panel unit or a new compressor?

any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated, thank you!!

Sounds like you need a new control panel, but also may have a wiring short somewhere behind the center stack there. If the fuse keeps blowing then the circuit is still getting overloaded somehow. If the wiring is at fault and you put a new control panel in it may fry it again.

Have you tried a new fuse and then starting the car without the AC controls plugged in? Maybe the blown control panel is drawing too much current and blowing the fuse, in which case a new panel will likely fix it.
