Ok I just replaced my red top optimum battery with a yellow top 2 weeks ago and had not done this since. 2 days ago my system shuts off everytime I hit the accelerator, when I let go it comes back on. Anyone know why?

Ok this is going to sound stupid but have you check the battery terminals to see if you tightened the connections. I had this happening too on an old car after I had swapped out the battery. Basically what had happened was the shop that changed the battery didn't tighten the terminal and when I accelerated it would pull the positive connection off the post, and as I slowed down or hit a steady speed and there was no engine torque the connection would slip back down on the post. Sounds stupid but worth a check.

You might just be a genius when I put the battery in I had trouble with the terminals since they would not fit. I had to bend the metal to make it get to the terminals. Might be pretty smart idea, I will check it out when I get off of work. THANKS!!!

There was a time when I had so much wattage on my subs and amps that everytime the bass would hit my lights would dim. You could stand outside the car and get a show. I even had two batteries running under my hood with one of the being the Optima.
