Welp got the first ticket in the tib. 77 in a 55, those motorcycle cops are hard to see.... Time to invest in a radar detector. There goes $114 to the state of ohio.

The tib isn't a speed demon so why speed? lol sorry i had to say it but anyways...
You are now in a 2 door "Sporty" car so you have to watch yourself alot more...
AKA I got pulled over for downshifting and got an exhibition of speed for "reving" my engine when I down shifted... Got thrown out of court... but anyways that was a week after i had the tib..

I used to have a cougar and I got pulled over a lot in it. I haven't been pulled over since I got my tib.

If you fight the ticket the worst that will happen is they will reduce it. Best: They nollie it.

Get the Escort 4800i. Awesome detector - expensive though. It's worth every dime though.

yeah, honestly i didnt know i was going THAT fast...knew i was speeding but was jammin to music and heading out to go fishing with a buddy ( who was already at the spot). But oh well, just take the hit this time, and look into a radar detector, seeing as i have a lead foot when no one is around

yeah i dont think anyone can say they weren't guilty of that at one point or another.

im sure if you are remorseful and tell the judge you're sorry they'll reduce the ticket anyways if its your first offense.

I learned in law studies if you contest the ticket and take it to court, and the cop doesnt show, it gets thrown out, Apparently it happens alot cause they have better things to do then fight a speeding ticket, like for example in my town, giving tickets for 36 in a 30, while people die on the highway

Im just gonna pay it, i was in the wrong. Just gotta slow down.
at least you know you were wrong. i normally go off on people that speed and try to weasel their way out of the ticket because they dont wanna pay for it since they think they're infallible to the law.

just dont speed again. i know its tempting sometimes, but if you really need to speed, find the nearest track and speed your brains out there :3_nosthum

I learned my lesson rather brutally in October 07... my tib was completely stock at the time, yet I decided to be an idiot with my friend in the car. On a rural road in northeast Maine, speed limit 55, I was doing an average of about 95 mph for close to a half hour. On one straight, I made a top speed attempt and reached just under 140. As I come over a hill at 101 mph a few miles later, I see a rest area ahead...

and blue lights.

They clocked me at 99 mph in a 55, locked in their radar at 97, and boy did I get socked. Apparently doing >30 over the limit is criminal speeding in Maine. I could have been arrested, but luckily I wasn't. They searched my car quite thoroughly, all in all a very unpleasant experience.

Ticket, $500. Lawyer fees, $250. Tax on ticket, $100. Civic flat fee, $10.

That's one expensive thrill ride.

ahah, everyone does. the important thing that people need to realize that if you feel the "need for speed", you should ALWAYS take it to the track. no one is going to make fun of you for bringing it to a closed off course where its LEGAL. plus, if you do somehow get hurt, you're more than likely only going to be hurting yourself, and no one else around you.

I think if your 30 over it isnt considered speeding, its reckless driving,

you should go to court and try to get it reduced since you havent had one in quite a while. theres no sense in overpaying (in both points and fines) if you dont have to. even offer to pay the full fine if you can cut a deal to get no points. $114 is a small price to pay compared to the insurance hike that follows points.
