...I'm pretty sure nobody ever reads it though. So, If you'd be so kind, I could use advice.

http://newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1510385#post1510385

Basically I got two codes meaning banks 1 and 2 are running lean. The hyundai tech guy suggests running higher octane fuel (91 instead of 87). Any ideas? Possible intake leak?

I have 05 V6 with I/E

Thanks!

Here are the check steps to a 174 code.

Check for air leaks and for loose hose and/or duct between air cleaner and TB.

Check for correct vacuum hose connections to engine dynamic chamber (especially PSV, ISC hose and brake booster)

With engine idling, disconnect hose between EVAP valve and canister. Check for vacuum at EVAP vavle. Is vacumm available at purge vavle when EVAP valve is not opening?

Check fuel line pressure with ignition on....Fuel pressure at idle: 46-49 PSI

Changing octains will not change a lean running engine....plus what mods have you done to your car as well?

Also, check your MAF. A lot of time a dirty MAF will throw lean codes, since the engine thinks there is less air than there really is, the ECU will pull fuel, then the A:F sensors will read a lean condition.
