update.. car is running great (idle is still a little rough more or less l.. lowest idle is 650 which is still in the range printed under the hood.. spark advance right at 12 degs on idle) .. all my monitors are readied except for my evap. ltft trims have floated between 0-3%. no codes!

now to fix the slow fill .. hate having the pump click of every gallon or less, my time is worth more than that ****

Have you tried pulling the plug on your maf to let it run on substituted values to see what happens to your stft?
My friend I just joined the forum to thank you for that little piece of advice. The MAF trace looked reasonable on my scanner so I spent a lot of time looking for vacuum leaks and cleaning injectors. Pulled the MAF sensor cable and idled fine. Replaced the sensor and all is well. Fixed my lousy idle and maxed out fuel trim. Thanks much.
