Looking for a DD touch screen head unit under 600$ and I’m having trouble choosing. Any one have any recommendations for 2016-2017 models? Im thinking about the Sony XAV AX100. But I also heard tiburons can have electrical/connection/reception issues with these kind of things. Is it better to get new head unit or just keep the Clarion one?
I would avoid sony, I've never been even remotely impressed by their HU, or their speakers for that matter.
Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, these are the brands I would stick to when it comes to sound quality. last time I dabbled into touch screens, I liked the pioneer best because it seemed to have the least lag.
Edit: I still think touch screen head units are far too laggy and slow for my standards. I ticks me off that we're in 2017 but I still have to watch menus animate at 2fps and take 2-5 seconds for menus to react. why can't they use some half decent hardware FFS! My ZuneHD runs better than the garbage I've had the misfortune to use.
i dont think touchscreens need to be in cars. pay more attention to that than whats going on in front if you. i like knobs. bad enough now that the things are starting to show up in aircraft too. i have enough to do when flying without trying to screw with a touch screen, even worse in a chopper when your hands are occupied by the control stick and cyclic. can poke with your nose or pecker i guess.
Just recently ordered a seicane android HU, will get back to here when I get it installed.
