Hi there I know this was an old subject but My 2008 Tiburon, AC controls stopped working randomly. All four speeds don't work, manual controls. Nothing turns on and the little green lights that normally function on the controls are not lighting up. The only thing that happens is when I press the "defrost" button located in the center of the far knob, I can hear an audible click somewhere in my dash. But I am unsure if it is actually working.

Either way, I have checked the external relay (the one under the dash) and that is fine. Even replaced it and still broken.

So is this a problem with the resistor, the blower motor, or the fuse behind the center console? I was assuming behind the center console but I haven't tried anything yet. Please someone have a solution thanks!

Can you hear the mode select door when changed?
Can you hear the temperature door when changed?
Did you check if Fuse 15 on the BCM is OK?
Are you having any issues with other accessories (such as power windows, locks, sunroof, trunk pop, etc.)

Sounds like the controls themselves are missing a power feed / ground.

When I checked fuses they were all good but I will look at fuse 15. I don’t hear anything when I push the ac button only a click sound when I push the defrost button. And where the temperature reading shows it’s just flashing ——F. No air blows at all with any fan or tenp setting either.

You don't hear anything when you switch modes or temperature?

Also, I'm not sure if this applies to the 07+ tibs but it's pretty common for the blower motor knob connector to melt & stop making connection. It's easy enough to do a visual inspection on that connector, it's the big one with 6 wires on it.

Yeah I don’t hear anything. I will look at it in the morning though.

I would definitely check all the wiring behind the HVAC controls on the center console. I seem to remember another thread where someone had it short out and burn the connection in the back. As I recall a new HVAC control piece solved that problem.

Just checked mine looked fine. All fuses were still good. Probably shorted somewhere inside the module where I would have to open it up. I guess I will have to try and find one to replace it with. Thanks

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the module is bad. I would start by checking powers & grounds at the module, unfortunately I don't have the schematics for the 07+ models so you'll be on your own on identifying them.

Thanks that’s what I’ll look into as the module doesn’t look like it has any burns in the the plug in but maybe the plug itself is bad
