Not too hard to do. Takes about an hour and that's taking your time. The worse part is taking off that little clip that you will swear at for 15 minutes. Seems like a good deal I kinda like the knob although it's hard to say without seeing it in the car. I would get some bushings though as it doesn't seem like that kit has them included.
Bushings are where the big omprovement is too. it takes that rubbery feeling out of the shifter.
i have that exact one and its not as short as you think and the shift knob makes it sit high. i had that shifter cut down about 1 1/2 inches and rewelded. works good , and i like the way the handle looks in the car

you can see the difference that i was talking about with the chrome shifter it sits higher and the stock handle gives it move of the sts look
yes, i actually put it back on yesterday. the chrome one gets f'n cold in the winter so i use the stock one. i mean so cold that you can't even hold it very long to even shift
