Places to get cams:
CROWER - By far the most common place, stock cams can be picked up in the for sale section anywhere from 125 to 200 and sent to crower for the regrind for around 400 including shipping both way. (could be a little more or less depending on shipping from your location)

To send cams into Crower you will want to package up your cams and send them to the address below along with a card inside with your Name, Address, Phone number, Car Information (make, model, year, engine), Cam specs. They will contact you when they get them. Phone number included below so you can call them and let them know they are on the way.

Crower's Information-

6180 Business Center Court
San Diego, CA
92154-5604
Phone: 619-661-6477
Fax: 619-661-6466

CRANE - Crane offers cams that are more aggressive and a little more expensive. Not sure about the price but the specs from one member was .370 lift, .216 duration, 116 seperation.

NGM - Cams come reground and ready to install. Stage one will run you around a grand.

Tri-flow cams from Colt Cams... they idle good and gain power thought all power band.

TRI FLOW cams for 2.7 delta

Primary intake Valve
218 duration
.365 lift

Secondary Intake
210 duration
.355 lift

Exhaust
218 duration
.365 lift

this place did the cams for RIPP, they do not need a cam card you can send them your cams with a list of mods and what you want. From there they have an index with thousands of grinds and will take one that closes suites what you need. It is very expensive though... 1000+
after talking to them if crower can do some of their grinds it would be PERFECT. they have done about 6 different grinds for the delta and none of them are under .350's....

http://i-intech.com/chain.html
Place that does/did the grinds for pross. the legendary "hi-cam" not sure on cost

MOST COMMON SPEC: .340 LIFT .210 DURATION .110 SEPERATION

Others have used: .333 Lift 204 degrees duration @.50. and 112 degrees of separation.
.349 Lift .210 Duration 110 Seperation

Basic cam card: ie what most people have. Thanks to bluegtv6 for the card.

How to degree a cam the easy way

Cams can be bought and swapped with stock ones without any other modification. Cam gears can be purchased to either advance or retard them. Advanceing them 2 degrees will move the powerband up 500 rpms and 2 degrees retarded will lower the powerband 500 rpms. Cam sprockets will also give you more adjustability, as they will allow you to adjust the seperation.

Recommended mods to get most out of your cams:
Intake
Headers
Exhaust
Stave IV intake manifold
fuel tuner
REAL ecu or raised rev limiter/NGM/SFR
ECU wise, something with a higher rev limiter is huge. Alot of power is made up in the rpm range. This mod should also be used WITH a tuner to fine tune the AFR. Also is should be the last mod you do, as it will not change when you add a mod. You will have to send it back to be adjusted for any additional mods.
cam gears
cam sprockets
stage IV heads
larger injectors over a certain hp range (290's are fine)
may want to consider Maf extender
bbtb
front and rear motor mounts
eventually a clutch and flywheel.

^all of these things are great to have, depending on which cams you go with and what your hp goals are you may need all or just I/H/E and a fuel tuner. Everything else is to help break through the 200whp mark.

the .370 cams from crane are also NGM's "stage2" cams. They are very aggressive. If interested you MUST have supporting mods, cam sprocket's are recommended.... this way you can tighten the lobe separation and create more whp NA. Also you will want to contact TC for further advice. These cams can be street able. there are at least 3 members on NT with them. They can also do other grinds. You are looking at a total cost of 500-600 through them.

If you like what you read or find this helpful I am now accepting any and all rep for this :D

Re: read these to learn about cams

if its going to be stickied it needs more than a bunch of links.
faus leave the links in there but put some of the more important information in the first few posts... including cam cards and recommended mods to see full whp gains, prices, other places to get cams other than crower, and some dyno graphs of some of the N/A guys...
if you do that it would be more beneficial... that would help keep the number of new threads started on the same topic to a minimum....

i started doing this in a word document and was going to paste it over but got bored with it.

ok, the reason for this thread is to help inform some of the "noobs" just because you now how to do it doesn't mean someone else does. I know how to degree cams, i was making the same type thing as faus and i had the same information. There are still people on this forum asking questions about electric superchargers, and which intakes yield the best gains, and all sorts or basic questions. those sure people would know how to degree cams huh? This is an informative thread to help some of the less knowledgeable members...

good job faus. I will post up what you don't have tomorrow sometime when i wake up..
i have a couple other places you can get regrinds and a couple of different cams specs and some other stuffs.

I also know..... where and how to get the legendary "high-cam" grind.... very expensive..... lol
there is a company that cuts the cams for pross and there is a company that cut the cams for kspec.... so they say... I have a few of their specs written down, all of them WAY higher lift and duration that the US grind... also WAY different separation... also.... WAY more money...

and Karma did you get cam sprockets and actually degree your cams? or did you just adjust the timing with cam gears?

Re: read these to learn about cams

it will be great if other members put their cam card here. i know that many people don"t want to
other people know his regrinds specs. but people every car is diferent, no matter wich specs your regrinds specs your running, you coud do 200 hp or 210 hp every car and every engine behave diferent, so please help us out here wiht this, and publish you cam card.
thanks in advance

on top of what Faus has said.
ECU wise, something with a higher rev limiter is huge. All of the power is made in the higher rpm's. Typically the fall off is somewhere around 7600rpm. If you can locate a R.E.A.L go for it, otherwise NGM is working on being able to do re flashes and full re tunes both for FI and NA. If all goes well he will be able to change. Rev limiter, fuel, timing, and more.

Recommended mods to get most out of your cams:
Intake

Exhaust
Stave IV intake manifold

REAL ecu or NGM's

Re: read these to learn about cams

I just wanted to post up that i was incorrect about crower. Whoever told me before was wrong.

they have TONS of grinds they can do, you dont have to do the .340's. Also you dont really need a cam card, you can send them you cams with a note inside saying what car you have with what engine, what you have on your, your telephone # and they will contact you with their grind they would like to do.
I have decided on my grind and will be sending them out within the next couple of weeks. I will also mic them when i get them back to make sure they are what i paid for. The ones i am getting are .358's.
