Overaxle seems more convenient; more clearance. I guess there's something I'm missing.

Theres nothing wrong with a overaxle, just a extra bend. How it is ugly? Its on the bottom on your car. Our stock exhaust is overaxle does it look ugly from the back?
I cant remember any overaxle single exhaust though, Im sure there was a company or two making one when i looked for mine.
