Here are the instructions for installing the Phantom Gauge Bezel - start to finish it took me 16 minutes to do... You will need a phillips screw driver and a box cutter

) Lower the steering wheel to it's lowest position
) Remove the 2 screws holding the gauge cluster surround ( underneath above the gauges)
) Reach down around the bottom of the surround and pull, it will pop off
) Remove the 4 screws holding the cluster in
) Pull the cluster out enought to unplug the 2 plugs on the rear of the cluster
) Remove the cluster from the car
) Remove the clear cover over the top of the gauge bezel - it is held on with snaps ( be very careful in this step, the clear portion can easily be scratched)
) Remove the black hood from the gauge cluster it is also held on with snaps

) Lay the hood on a flat surface and measure out 1/2 inch from the top of the square

) Take your box cutter and scribe a 1/2 inch box from the top of the square press hard to scribe deep

) Now take the box cutter and push up both sides of your scribed box

) Snap the box you just cut out of the hood

) Install the phantom bezel

) Reverse your installation back in to the car

) Enjoy!

Sounds pretty easy.. what i'm not getting is why it won't work with the autos with the trip meter?
The source of the lighting is from the LCD, the LCD is the same size in both the auto and manual.. On the manual the upper part is covered because they don't need to display any info there... with the autos it is not covered and they display the PND and trip info.. so, you can use this bezel, but you would lose that info
