If you don't have anything ceramic coated on your car... read no further

Well, as some of you know my valve covers are ceramic coated. My auto tensioner and idle pulley had to be replaced under warranty. I figure, I will let Hyundai do it to save a few dollars in parts costs. Well, I get my car back (i am sick at the moment) and it sits for two days. Today while removing my manifolds I notice that a$$hole who worked on my car put a 1" long gash in my front valve cover. Just knicked the surface. Looks like if someone were to take a knife to polished aluminum. Anyone have any experiencing w/ polishing something like this out of ceramic coating? Anyone have any experience in general with polishing up ceramic coating to bring back the original luster?
